You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below
Step 1
Prepare the facility.
Determine the size and position of your drawing and sketch the outline of the head as a circle. Draw the front of the muzzle in the form of an oval.
Step 2
Add the outlines of the ears and neck.
With the help of smooth curves, large erect ears are depicted. From the beginning, draw smooth lines to depict the upper body.
Step 3
Draw the outline of the eye.
Around the middle of the head, draw two eyes shaped like in our example. Be careful at this stage of drawing and observe symmetry.
Step 4
Describe the nose.
Add a small nose to the front of the muzzle. Using curved lines draw the nostrils on the sides and draw small wrinkles on the bottom.
Step 5
Start drawing feathers.
Using smooth curved lines, draw the outline of the fur along the outer contour of the head. When doing this, consider the direction of hair growth.
Step 6
Detail of an ear.
Focus on the instructions and draw fur on one ear. Note that the largest hairs are located along the outer border of the ear.
Step 7
Second ear detail.
This step is similar to the previous step, now you have to draw the hair in the second ear. Use clean curves and add the hairs consecutively.
Step 8
Sketch the fur at the front of the muzzle.
Continue adding fur and in this step, detail the front of the muzzle as in the example.
Step 9
Draw hair on the chin.
The Yorkie’s head is very smooth and there are also large hairs on the chin. Use curved lines and add all necessary outlines consistently.
Step 10
Describe the fur on the bottom of the head.
At the bottom of the head, add spiked hairs in the same way as the previous steps.
Step 11
Add the rest of the outline.
Focus on the secondary lines and make the lines of the upper body clearer and more expressive.
Step 12
Sketch feathers.
Using curved lines of different sizes, add strands of hair on the muzzle, on the ears, and on the rest of the body.
Step 13
Correct any inaccuracies.
Your drawing is almost ready, all that remains is to remove unnecessary lines and correct inaccuracies if necessary.
Step 14
Color the drawing.
To color the fur, you will need different shades of brown. Color the eyes and nose with black and add highlights.
