Step 1
In the center of the page, draw an outline of the crab’s body. Simply draw two curved lines that are joined together, with a downward curve at the top and an upward curve at the bottom. When drawn correctly, the outline should look like a slanted oval with pointed ends.
To ensure that the border will be positioned exactly in the center, draw a horizontal and a vertical line on the paper to create reference lines. Where the two lines intersect is where you should draw the crab.
Step 2
Draw the left pincer of the crab
At the left end of the contour that we drew in the previous step, let’s draw the frame of the crab.
As you can see in the illustration, the pincer is basically an irregular oval divided into two claws, with one larger than the other.
Step 3
Next, Draw the right frame
Switch to the other side, draw another frame on the right side of the crab’s body. It will look exactly like the left frame that we drew in the previous step.
And there you have it — your crab drawing now has two frames!
Step 4
Draw the left foot of the crab
To the left of the crab’s body, draw three long legs slightly apart. The shape of the pins is simply curved lines connected to the pointed ends.
Remember that all three walking legs must be hanging downwards.
Step 5
Then draw the right walking leg
Now it’s time to draw the crab’s walking leg on its right side. Just repeat the previous step on the other side of the crab body.
Step 6
Sketch the eyes of the crab
Draw two perfectly small circles above the crab’s body to outline the eyes. The circles should not touch the body. Make sure the eyes are aligned and even.
Step 7
Connect the eyes to the body
Attach the eyes to the body by drawing a vertical line connecting each eyeball to the crab’s body. Keep the lines thin and curved to make it look more realistic!
Step 8
Put a big smile on Crab’s face
Let’s paint your crab a happy face to make your drawing more fun! Starting with the eyes, draw an iris inside each eye and shade it while leaving a small dot unobscured.
Then draw an upward curved line to create a grin.
Now, the crab looks super happy, doesn’t it?
Step 9
More patterns and textures
To make your crab drawing look more creative and realistic, add patterns all over its body.
Draw parallel lines on the joints of the crab’s walking legs. Then draw irregular circles of different sizes on each claw.
