You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

    Step 1

Contour the elephant’s face just by drawing an irregular circle. The shape should be relatively wider at the bottom than the top, accentuating the elephant’s cheeks.

Then draw the trunk at the bottom of the face. Draw two lines that overlap the contour with a muzzle at the top. An elephant’s trunk must be bent, as shown in the illustration, to make it look lifelike.

    Step 2

Now that we’ve contoured the elephant’s face, it’s time to paint its other physical properties!

On the left side of the face, draw a large ear extending from the head down to the cheek. When drawn correctly, it should look quite similar to a human ear but relatively larger.

    Step 3

Repeat the previous step on the other side of the elephant’s ear. Try to make the ears as straight and even as possible.

    Step 4

Just below the face, draw a curved vertical line with a horizontal line at the bottom to outline the elephant’s arms.

Elephants are naturally on the side of more force. So be sure to make the chubbier arms.

    Step 5

Then, repeat the previous step on the other side of the elephant’s torso. Make sure that the arms of the elephant are even and in the same level.

    Step 6

On the left side of the body, draw a slanted oval to outline the shape of the foot. Then connect it to its body using curved lines.

Similar to an elephant’s arms, the elephant’s feet should appear rough.

    Step 7

Repeat the previous step on the other side of the elephant’s torso.

    Step 8

Now it’s time to add textures and details all over the elephant’s body to make it look like depth and realism.

Starting with the ear, draw a line inside the ear following the contour. This outlines the inner ear of the elephant. Then, draw three curved lines in the middle of the ear to create a crease inside the ear.

    Step 9

Give your elephant some emotion and expression by painting its eyes.

Draw two vertical ovals with a small circle inside the outline. Shade the entire eye while leaving the small circle unobscured. This creates a dramatic “sparkling eyes” effect, making your elephant drawing look even cuter!

Finally, here’s the fun part — coloring your amazing drawing! This is the part where you can show your artistic talent and ability to mix and match different colors.

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

    Step 1

First, we will draw three circles. It looks like an inverted snowman. Although the image below is not as large as a typical snowman.

    Step 2

However, we work with elephants. Therefore, we outline a trunk that looks like a smooth curve. We also connect three circular phirugs with short straight lines at the top.

    Step 3

Now we can work with the facial features of our cute animal. Draw a small eye that looks like an inverted triangle. Add contours of ivory and trunk.

    Step 4

We have the almost complete silhouette of the elephant’s head. Now we add the outline of the large triangular ear. The ear should be slightly smaller than the first round body.

    Step 5

You may hear the phrase “elephant foot” as an idiom. In fact, the elephant has huge and powerful legs. In this step, we draw a pair of strong legs that are slightly narrowed.

    Step 6

In this step, we literally add two lines. In this step, we literally add two lines. The top line starts at the nape of the neck and ends at the contour of the tail. The bottom line is shorter. The bottom line connects the front and rear legs of our elephant.

    Step 7

Now we repeat the steps from the fifth stage. Now we are working with the hind legs of an elephant. Don’t forget about the little tail with a brush at the end.

    Step 8

So we have an almost complete picture.
In this step we will add the claws on our elephant’s paws. It is a small detail that forms an overall impression.

    Step 9

Take a look at our full drawing. Let us evaluate the correctness of the forms and proportions. If you don’t see any errors or distortions, you can proceed to the next step.

    Step 10

As in many other drawing tutorials, our final step will be spent working with color. We chose a dark gray color for our elephant. You can use other colors according to your preference.
