You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

    Step 1

We’re going to start off simple for this first step of our how to paint brush tutorial. To get started, just draw a thin curved line. This will form a bit of sand that your palm will stick out later.

You can try to make the line look like the one in our example, but you can change the look of the line a bit if you want!

    Step 2

    Now let’s draw some grass
Using the line you drew in the first step, you can now add some grass to your palm tree drawing. This will be made up of a series of jagged lines of varying lengths.

You can roll them up a bit to give them some movement, as you can see in the picture.

    Step 3

    Next, draw on the trunk
A palm tree would not be a palm if it did not have the distinctive long stem for which they are well known.
For this reason, maybe we should add the trunk to your palm tree drawing! Draw two long and curved lines up from the jagged grass lines to form the trunk as shown in our reference image.

Once you are satisfied with the look of the trunk, we can move on to the next step.

    Step 4

    Start drawing leaves
For the next step of the palm tree tutorial, we’ll start with the big leaves at the top.

In this step, I recommend that you follow the tutorial image carefully, as it will be helpful when you draw more leaves later.

This part of the leaves will be drawn with some very curved lines above the ones you used to draw the stem in the previous step.

To make this step easier, try to determine the center point from which all lines will start. The reference image should give you an idea of where you can place that center line.

The lowest elongated leaf line will have a slightly more serrated line than the rest.
This step can be a little tricky, but if you follow the pictures closely I know you can do it!

    Step 5

    Now let’s draw more leaves
Using the lines you drew for the leaves in the previous step, you can now draw more leaves in your palm tree drawing.

Starting at the end of each line, draw another line towards the center. The image will show you which lines should be smooth and which should be jagged.

Once the leaves look good to you, we can move on to step 6!

    Step 6

Now you can draw some coconuts and details
For this step in our palm tree tutorial, you just need to draw some circles between the leaves near the center of the top of the stem.

They will fill in the space between the stem and the leaves left in the previous step.

Then draw some horizontal lines as long as the width of the palm trunk to give the texture to the trunk.

    Step 7

    Drawing in some final details
Your palm tree drawing looks so beautiful! Before you move on to coloring, just add some lines to the leaves to make them look a bit more textured and vibrant.

You can also add in any interesting details that you think would look good!

    Step 8

    Finally, color your brush
I hope you’re ready for even more fun because now that your palm tree painting is done you can have some great fun coloring it!

This is the step where you can let your creativity shine and choose your favorite color to complete it. We’ve shown you one way to color, but you should follow your creative instincts.

Create the palm leaves by drawing serrated shapes following the curve of the midrib as shown.

    Draw coconuts
Draw the coconut on the tree by creating curved lines. Draw another coconut on the ground by creating a circle.

    Step 4

Let’s attach the coconut tree trunk. First, draw two long curved shapes to outline the trunk. Then, draw evenly spaced lines to draw the details on the trunk.

    Step 5

    Sand drawing
Draw the sand first by creating a wavy horizontal line. Don’t forget to draw the sand on the bottom of the coconut tree by creating a short wavy horizontal line as shown.

    Step 6

Complete the coconut tree drawing by first coloring the leaves with a green pencil. Next, shade the coconut with a dark brown pen. Now, color the trunk with a light brown pencil. Then, use an orange pen to paint in the sand. Color the edges of the sand with a darker orange.

    Step 1

Start by drawing the roots of the tree. Draw a few diagonal lines next to each other that all connect.

    Step 2

Now, draw the trunk. Draw a small upside-down trapezoid all connected diagonally.

    Step 3

Then draw the fruit. Draw a circle at the top of your trunk. Behind it, draw two half circles so it looks like you have three balls.

    Step 4

Finish by drawing the leaves. Going away from the bottom of your fruit, draw a jagged line. Draw another jagged curve but join the start and end of your first line. Draw a slightly long curved line through the middle. Repeat these steps to create more leaves growing around the top of your stem.
