Step 1
Start sketching your dog by drawing an oval. This will become the muzzle or muzzle of the cartoon dog. Draw another, smaller, oval inside it to form the nose. Draw a wide, round “W” shape below the nose to form the mouth.
Step 2
Use large and inverted “U” shaped lines to create points around the eyes. Use a curved line to enclose a curved shape at the top of each point. They represent the dog’s eyebrows.
Step 3
Draw a small oval inside a larger oval in each point. These are the dog’s eyes.
Step 4
Draw the dog’s ears, erasing the old lines if necessary. For the proximal ears, draw a straight line at the top and a large “U” shaped line for the sides and bottom of the ear. Decorate this ear with a point in the middle.
On the opposite side, outline the ear with a curved line. Use another curved line to outline the collar around the dog’s neck.
Step 5
Outline the dog’s body using two long, curved lines. One should come from the front of the neck, the other from the back.
Step 6
Draw the dog’s first paw. Extend a pair of straight lines down from the body. At the bottom, leave one of the curves and double itself. This forms the round foot and also encloses the foot at the bottom. Detail the toes with a few short lines.
Step 7
Draw the hind legs. Extend two curved lines from the bottom. At the bottom, one should spiral around and form the legs as before. Detail the toe with short lines. Erase the lines of the body from the top of the legs if needed.
Step 8
Draw the remaining pins. Use pairs of lines or curves for each pair. At the bottom, let one leg bend to form the leg. Detail the toe with short lines.
Step 9
Complete your dog drawing sketch for kids by drawing its tail. Extend two curved lines and let them meet at a sharp point. Draw a point on the dog’s back using a curved line.
Step 10
Color your dog cartoon. In our illustration, he is white with brown spots. Other colors may include black, cream, fawn or blue, a shade of gray.
