Step 1
Draw a dome shape for the head and add a dash. Did you know this bird is called a killer because of the distinctive “deer-killing” sound it makes?
Step 2
Add a neckline and eyes to the bird’s face, along with textures going from the mouth to the neck.
Step 3
Draw a slight curve for the back and another for the belly, rebalancing where the tail will go!
Step 4
Draw a half circle on the wing body and then a triangle. Add a border at the top for the feathers!
Step 5
Now draw the tail. You can often find the killer on the beaches, running along the waves and looking for small insects!
Step 6
Add a few lines on the wings to create a mold.
Step 7
Draw a long thin leg. This is what killdeer runs very fast on!
Step 8
Do the same for the other leg, remember to add the legs and nails!

Finally, add some color to the chin to make it look more realistic
