    Step 1

    Start sketching tropical fish by drawing eyes. Use four curved lines to enclose the rounded rectangle, with another small line representing the eyelids.

    Step 2

    Draw an oval within an oval inside the eye. Shade between them to indicate students. Then, use a curved line twice as long as itself to outline the fish’s characteristic triangular beak. At the corner of the mouth, draw a short curved line.

    Step 3

    Extend the upper part of the line to form the upper dorsal fin. Extend another line below the beak to form the bottom part of the mouth.

    Step 4

    Continue drawing the bottom line to form the belly and lower fin of the fish. From each of the two fins, extend a curved line. They outline the top and bottom of the tail.

    Step 5

    Connect the top and bottom of the tail using a wavy curved line. Draw a curved line behind the eyes, separating the head from the rest of the body.

    Step 6

    Draw a shorter curve in the body. From there, extend a curved line and duplicate it back to enclose the irregular rounded shape of the pectoral fin. Fin texture with short curves.

    Then, extend a curved line below the body of the fish. Connect it to the front of the anal fin by a series of short lines that meet at jagged points. This is the pelvic fin.

    Step 7

    Draw the characteristic oval spot on the fish’s dorsal fin. Then tie the base of the tail with two curved lines, enclosing a stripe. Textured tail and ventral fins with curves.

    Step 8

    Draw wavy curves on the dorsal and anal fins.

    Wrap the butterfly fish with stripes of the same name as it. Use pairs of long curves.

    In the wild, the copper butterflyfish has a silvery white body with orange or yellow stripes. We have made the silver part of the fish purple, because they can appear in deep water. The eye spots on the dorsal fin are black and some stripes have a black border.

    Step 1:

    The first fish is at the bottom of the page in an up-right position. To draw the body, create an almond-like structure with two arches starting at the same point. Don’t join the lines and leave a small loophole. You can find similarities of body shape with that of a goldfish.

    Now add the Betta’s fins on the sides of the body. At the top, draw a long fin. Then create two small fins on the fish’s belly at the bottom. The first fin will pass through the body, while the second, relatively smaller, will be at the edge of the body.

    To make the fishtail, connect the ends of the arch by extending them with curved lines. Connect the two with a half circle opened on the outside. Add details to the tail by creating two curved strokes.

    Fish is ready. Just add some bubbles in front of the fish face.

    Other details
    Now to show the water around the fish you need to fill the remaining space with details like the water waves. Therefore, let’s draw more bubbles along with wavy lines. It will also give the impression that the fish is moving in the water. Now you can move on to coloring the cute fish picture.

    Start drawing by coloring the foreground using the wash technique. We will use a blue color to cover the space. Use a moderately rounded paintbrush and be careful not to color in any other design except the background. Let the color dry for some time.

    Once dry, use a light blue color to draw waves and bubbles on the background. Since you need soft curves here, use a smooth brush to create waves.
