You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

    Step 1

In the first step of the tutorial on how to draw a flying bird, we will use a pencil to draw some rough outlines for the bird.
For now, the lines and shapes will be pretty basic, as we’ll be adding more details in the later steps of this tutorial. For the sketch now, you will draw the head, body, wings and tail.

Then, once you have all these pencil outlines, you can use the pen to draw on the bird’s face and beak.

While doing this, you can also draw some elements like eyes and mouth on the beak. Once you’re happy with how it looks, you’re ready for step 2!

    Step 2

Start drawing some more pen details
The second part of your drawing of the bird in flight will see you add some pen line detail to your bird.
For this part we will focus on some lines on the wings and some bodies. Now, you can take a look at the bird’s bottom line.

You can also go over the bird’s tail while adding some finer details as you go along.

    Step 3

Start adding feather details to the wings
In this third part of our tutorial on how to draw a flying bird, we will finalize the outline of the bird.
For the most part, you’ll focus on the feather tips of the wings. To do this, you can use some sharp jagged lines along the wings. This will make it look like beautiful wings and feathers!

    Step 4

Draw some more details inside the wings
Your sketch of the bird in flight is pretty much done now, so in the next few steps we’ll draw some details on the inside of the wings.
Using the pencil lines that you copied in step 1, carefully draw some sharp feather lines along the inner line of the wing.

This will really help give the image some texture. Once you’ve drawn it, you’re ready for the final details in the next step.

    Step 5

Finalize the final details of your flying bird drawing
This step of our how to draw a flying bird tutorial will be about adding some final details to really complete it.

These details will mainly appear on the wings, you can add more feather details to it.

You can then add any final pen lines that you may have missed from the previous steps.

Once you have drawn all the pen details that you want for your image, you can erase all the pencil lines from the first step because you won’t need them anymore.
When you erase, use caution as the ink can take a while to dry completely! Once all these details have been added, you can also add any other elements or details you want.

Some ideas you could include is having some other bird fly with this one. You can also draw a lovely background to really complete it in a unique way!

By drawing the background, you can tell what kind of weather or terrain conditions this bird is flying through.

You can also look up different landscape paintings for inspiration for some backgrounds that you can draw on!

    Step 6

Complete your flying bird painting with some colors
Now that you’ve finished your flying bird painting, it’s time to relax with some fun coloring to really finish it off! In our example, we use blue, gray, and yellow to color the bird.

How to draw a bald eagle with this how-to video and step-by-step drawing instructions. Easy animals to draw for beginners and kids.

How to draw a bald eagle step by step

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

    Step 1

Outline the contours of the head and back
First, we sketch a large oval and a small one – one will indicate the position of the giant body, respectively, the other will indicate the position of the head. The upper oval is much smaller because there is no such volumetric plumage on it.

    Step 2

Outline the contours of the neck and tail
Connect the head to the body with a wide neck. Mark a small bump on the back of the head. Draw a tail at the bottom of the body. It is a long descending triangle. So we get a proud bird with a strong body.

    Step 3

Draw the beak of an eagle
The base is there, now draw a large, hooked beak. Draw a line for the mouth below. The beak looks like a predator and is quite large compared to the head. Try to create a frowning and threatening expression.

    Step 4

    Drawing eagle eyes
Draw the eyes into small circles. Sketch the lines on the eyes and direct them towards the beak to form an arch of the brow in our reference. By the way, young eagles have gray eyes. As they grow, the eyes of these birds are yellow.

    Step 5

Draw the bottom edge of the neck
Draw the bottom contour of the neck, which should look like a jagged line. This line separates a very small part of the top of the large oval. Try to avoid corners that are too even and symmetrical.

    Step 6

Draw the wings of an eagle
Draw a pair of outstretched wings. Due to the peculiarities of the perspective, we can see the entire wing and the second in the form of a narrow oval. Both wings are longer than the oval from the first step.

    Step 7

Draw the top of the foot
Draw the short contours of the base of the feet. Pay attention to the fact that the wide areas of the legs extend away from the body. Furthermore, these contours translate into a smooth taper. A smooth horizontal line separates the wide and narrow parts of the foot.

    Step 8

    Drawing laws of an Eagle
Draw the eagle’s strong, round toes with sharp talons. The arrangement of the toes on the right foot is very different from the arrangement of the fingers on the left foot. Don’t forget to draw the curves and contractions you can see in our example.

    Step 9

Draw the large feathers of an eagle
We are at home. So draw some vertical lines that will indicate the largest feathers. The ridges on the tail and on the wings have the same direction, this is a very important detail.

    Step 10

    Drawing Feathers on Torso
Draw the texture of the feathers using short, circular lines. As you can see, in our eagle picture there are no straight lines oriented in different directions. On the wings, these lines are darker than on the body.

    Step 11

    Delete the rule
If we remove all unnecessary rules we get something like this. If your sketch is very different from what you intended, go through all the steps and find out exactly where you made a mistake.

    Step 12

    Coloring drawings of eagles
So let’s add some color to our eagle painting. The head and neck are light gray, the bill dark yellow, the body brown, and the legs yellow. The eyes can be painted dark red or yellow.
