Step 1
For the first step of the swan drawing tutorial, we will focus on the swan’s head and beak.
To draw this style, you will use a long curved line for the top of the head with a smaller line underneath for the cheeks. You can then draw the swan’s beak using a shape line on the left side of the head.
Once you have it like in our reference image then you are ready for the next step!
Step 2
Draw some details on the face and widen the neck
In this swan drawing, you’ll add some detail to the face while also lengthening the neckline.
First, you can draw eyes using ovals. Then you can use a filled circle inside it for the pupil of the eye.
Then, once you’ve finished the eyes, you can add some curves to the beak and some small lines for the nostrils. You can then finish this step by adding some curved lines over the eyes for the lashes.
Before continuing, you can finish this step by adding some lines to the collar.
Step 3
Now you can draw some more swan’s body
Now that you’ve completed the swan’s head, you can now start adding on the neck and torso.
First, start with a sharp curve going down from below the swan’s head. This part will curve further towards the lower swan’s thick chest, and then it will extend all the way to the base of the swan’s body.
Finally, you can also extend a curve from the back of the neck as shown in our reference image.
Step 4
Next, draw some feathers and tails of the swan
Your swan drawing already looks great, and we’ll make it look better with a few more details now!
First, you can draw a series of curves near the swan’s back as shown in our reference image.
These will make up the feathers on the swan’s wings. Then on the back of the swan you will draw some longer curved lines to form the swan’s feathers.
Once you have these beautiful details in place, you are ready for the final elements!
Step 5
Now you can add some final details to your swan drawing
This step of our swan drawing tutorial will include adding some final details before moving on to the final step.
The main element of this step will be to add more sharp curves on the swan’s body to create even more beautiful feather details.
Once done, you can also add a line below the swan to make it look like it’s floating on the lake.
That should do the trick for the details of this tutorial, but before you continue, you can also add some extra details and elements you might want to it!
You can draw a background to show the beautiful lake on it, and you can also add some birds like ducks floating on the lake.

Step 1
Begin by drawing a small oval.
Step 2
To the right of the oval, extend a series of connected, curved lines, returning to the oval. This enclosed shape will form the feathers of the eagle’s neck.
Step 3
Erase the guide lines formed by the original oval.
Step 4
Draw the beak using a series of curved lines. The beak should cross outside the form of the head, lines meeting in a hooked point.
Step 5
Erase the guide lines from within the beak.
Step 6
Draw a larger oval overlapping the feathers of the neck.
Step 7
Draw a long, curved line extending from the large oval. Between the end of the line and the oval, draw a series of connected, curved lines to form the feathers of the wing.
Step 8
Draw two long, curved lines extending from the head and neck of the eagle. Allow the lines to meet in a rounded point.
Step 9
From the first wing, extend a number of curved lines. The lines towards the tip of the wing should enclose long, narrow shapes. Those near the base of the wing should be shorter, wider, and more “U” shaped.
Step 10
Draw several “U” shaped lines underneath the second wing.
Step 11
Extend two curved lines from the large oval. Connect the lines using a series of curved, “U” shaped lines.
Step 12
Erase the guide lines left from the large oval.
Step 13
Draw a series of short curved lines at the base of the tail. Allow the lines to meet in jagged points.
Step 14
Draw a second series of short, curved lines meeting in jagged points, extending from the belly of the eagle.
Step 15
Draw the feet using overlapping curved lines. At the end of the toes, use two short, curved lines to form a curved triangle shape. Add texture to the feet by drawing several short lines across each toe.
Step 16
Erase the guide lines from the legs and feet.

Step 17
Add the texture of feathers to the wings, neck, and body. Do this by drawing patches of short, curved lines. Some lines may connect.
Step 18
Draw a small circle near the beak, to form the eye. Draw a smaller circle within the first circle. Shade the smaller circle.
Step 19
Draw a small, narrow oval within the beak. Draw a short, curved line above the eye.
Step 20
Color your eagle. The bald eagle is typically brown with a white head, but other types of eagles display a range of colors and patterns – grey, brown, black, tan, and white coloration is common, and some have speckles on the wings and stomach.
