Step 1
Start sketching the seahorse cartoon by drawing its eyes. Draw short curved lines for the upper and lower eyelids, then place a partial oval between them.
Step 2
Draw an oval inside the oval inside the eye and shade between them to represent the pupil. Draw two curved lines above the eyes to detail the upper eyelid and eyebrows.
Step 3
Draw a long, curved line around the eye to outline the seahorse’s head. Fold it in half in front to create a snout and a smiling mouth. Draw a short, curved line at the corner of the mouth.
Step 4
Draw a curved line overlapping the mouth to form the lower jaw. From under the jaw, extend a long spiral. This forms the seahorse’s belly and its spiral-shaped tail.
Step 5
Draw a line from the back of the head to the tip of the tail, completely enclosing the animal’s body. Then, extend a short curved line from the top. Draw another line that meets it at a point. This starts with the fish’s dorsal fin.
Step 6
Continue drawing the dorsal fin along the head, neck, and back. Use short curved lines that meet at points. Notice how the lines become shorter near the end of the fin.
Step 7
Draw another fin in the middle of the back. Use connected “U” shaped lines to form the scalloped pattern.
Step 8
Texture the fins using curved lines.
Step 9
Draw a long curved line from head to tail, loosely parallel to the outline of the abdomen. Then, texture the belly using curved horizontal lines.
Step 10
Your cartoon seahorse sketch is now complete. Color your drawing. Seahorses come in a variety of bright colors, including red, yellow, orange, and green, while others are dull and brown.
