Step 1
Sketch the head and back
First, draw three circles of different sizes. The largest circle is in the center, the smaller circles are on the sides. Use light strokes with minimal pencil pressure.
Step 2

Place the hyena’s eyes very close to the outer line of the head. Draw a nose over the snout, and draw a long mouth below.

Draw the hyena’s front legs
Add volume for powerful front legs. So the wide part of the foot starts at the chest and tapers downwards. Note the gradual thickening around the middle of the toenail.

Coloring drawings of hyenas
С Color the hyena with different shades of brown and gray. A darker base color will give you a glossy finish. Small details, such as the highlight inside the eye contour, will make the hyena look more realistic and alive.
