Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

Draw the head.
Start your drawing with the kiwi head image at the top of the paper. It will look like an unfinished oval. The neckline is a dashed (zigzag) line with two peaks.

Step 2

Draw eyes and beak.
Draw a single black dot for the kiwi eye. Please note that it is located closer to where you will start drawing the mine. Now, let’s move on to the beak. It consists of two long, curved lines originating at two different points facing the eye and converging at the end point.

Step 3

Draw the body.
The body of the kiwi is the most important part of the drawing. Note that it is pear-shaped. Perhaps for some artists the body of a bird will resemble an onion – here it is worth following an avatar convenient for you. Don’t forget that you should also draw a curved broken line with three vertices, starting at the bird’s back and ending with where a common bird’s tail is. These are the protruding fluff.

Step 4

Draw feathers.
As we mentioned above, kiwi’s fur is very similar to that of mammals. Draw ten short, straight lines (dashes) at different locations on the bird’s body. Please note that some lines must be slightly longer than others.

Step 5

Draw the hips.
Now you need to depict the upper part of the kiwi leg – the thigh. They are two small semicircles. Note that one of the semicircles closest to the viewer will be slightly larger than the other.

Step 6

Draw legs.
You have now moved to the penultimate stage of the kiwi bird. Draw two legs, one of which – the one closest to you – should be slightly longer than the other. Draw vertical lines from the hips, and then using the dashed lines you already know, draw three toes on each leg. End legs with spurs – sharp protrusions at the tip.

Step 7

Color your bird.
To color the finished drawing, they used brown in various shades: the head was light, and everything else was dark. However, you can make the kiwi gray, which is also the typical color of this bird.

We hope that this has been a useful and informative lesson for you. Be sure to show your new drawing to friends and family. We also recommend that you familiarize yourself with other drawing lessons for kids.
