You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

Start by drawing overlapping circles, one partially hidden by the other. These will form the mosquito’s eyes.

Step 2

Extend a pair of lines, one from between the lines and one just below them. Allow the lines to meet at a sharp point. This is the mosquito’s proboscis that she uses to stab her skin. Then use curved lines to outline the mouth opening.

Step 3

Draw a few narrowly spaced curved lines over each eye, forming the eyelids and eyelashes. Draw a “U” shaped line below each of these lines to enclose the pupil. Extend two curved lines above the eyes, forming a beard.

Step 4

Draw a large circle, partially obscured by the head, to form the thorax or midsection of the mosquito. Then, lengthen a long, curved line and fold it in half to hug the belly.

Step 5

Extend a pair of curved lines from a point in the center of the ribcage. Allow them to meet at a gentle, enclosed wing. Then, extend two more lines, from the chest and wings, and allow them to meet at a gentle point, enclosing the second wing.

Step 6

Extend two pairs of straight lines, one from the chest and one from the bottom of the face. This is the leg of the mosquito. Draw the leg at the bottom using a curved line.

Step 7

Draw pairs of curves on each subsection, each pair meeting at a pointed end. These are the pointed, sinister fingers of the mosquito’s hand.

Step 8

Draw another pair of lines from the chest, forming the legs. Draw a set of lines perpendicular to the first line, forming the knee and shin. Draw the feet using a curved line.

Step 9

Use pairs of lines to draw the rest of the legs, erasing as needed. Then, tape the belly with curved lines.

Step 10

Color your cartoon mosquito. These insects can be gray, brown, green, or iridescent blue. Some even have black and white stripes like a zebra! Their belly is usually red after feeding.
