How To Draw A Wolf

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1.

Start by drawing three circles. The small will form the head of a wolf, the big one will be as big as the chest, and the big one will fit at the hip or outstretched.

Step 2

Sketch the wolf’s head and neck using a series of curved lines. On top of the small circle, outline the forehead and mouth. Cover the nose and teeth in the shape of a triangle. Use a series of curved lines of varying lengths that meet at serration points to form the hairy underside of the neck. Use curved lines to form a triangle of the ear, detailed with additional curves. Connect the ear to the large circle using a curved line.

Step 3

Remove guide lines from the top. Connect the larger circles using curved lines, forming the back and belly of the wolf. Then, extend a long, curved line to start the tail.

Step 4

Draw a smaller circle within the large circle. Then, draw three small circles below the body, with a curved line below each. These guides will help you realistically sketch your legs.

Step 5

Draw pairs of curves between the circles representing the shoulders and hips, the circles forming the knees, and the curves of the feet.

Step 6

Erase the guide lines’ circles, leaving a clear outline of the wolf. Use overlapping curved lines that meet at the jagged points to complete the lower feathers of the tail. Use additional curves to enclose the other front foot and each foot.

Step 7

Detail the toe with curves. Draw a curved triangular claw at the tip of each nail.

Step 8

Draw a large circle around the wolf’s head to indicate the moon. Draw “C” shaped lines of various sizes to indicate the crater of the moon. Then use curved lines to draw the ledge on which the wolf is standing.

Step 9

Erase the outline of the moon where it overlaps the wolf. Then, detail the wolf’s fur with curves that meet at jagged points at the base of the head, chest, shoulders, ankles, and tail.

Color your howling wolf cartoon. Wolves are usually gray with black, brown, red, or white markings. Some are solid white or solid black.
