Step 1
Start by drawing guide lines that will help you draw Chase. First, draw two circles, which will form the head and body. Draw a horizontal oval through the bottom of the upper circle; this will help you outline Chase’s function. Then draw two small ovals below the circles. They will become Chase’s feet.
Step 2
Inside the horizontal oval, draw a long, curved line. It should extend to the edge of the oval, dip down to pass the top of the lower circle, meet the oval on the opposite side, and merge it. This exposes Chase’s jaw.
Step 3
Draw Chase’s police hat. Use a long, curved line to enclose an irregular shape at the top of the upper circle. Place another irregular shape below it. Tape this shape with some horizontal curves, creating the outline of the hat.
Step 4
Erase excess facial lines, leaving a clear contour. Then draw the ears. For each one, extend a pair of curves from the top side and have them meet at a point. Then, extend two more lines inside the ear, creating a pointed shape parallel to the first line. Next, draw the nose and mouth.
Draw an upside down triangle with rounded corners to form the nose. Draw a pointed curved shape on top of it to indicate shine. Draw curved lines extending from the sides and bottom of the nose, and shadow dots between them. Use curved lines to outline the mouth, teeth, and tongue.
Step 5
Draw eyes. Draw curved lines above the cheeks, then include two oval sections on each side. Inside the oval, draw two consecutive smaller circles and shade between them. Draw curved, pointed eyebrows between the two ovals.
Step 6
Use curves to outline Chase’s police uniform and collar. Then draw arrowhead shapes to form the dog tag and the symbol on his hat. Draw a crow’s foot inside the hat logo to form the Paw Patrol logo and draw a star inside his dog tag.
Step 7
Draw the legs using pairs of curved lines extending from the uniform shoulder to the little foot oval. Detail the toes and toenails using overlapping curves.
Step 8
Draw his belly using a curved line between the front legs. Draw the back legs and feet using curved lines.
Step 9
Draw a zig-zag line above each leg.
Step 10
Color your Chase cartoon.
