Step 1.

Outline outline
Lightly draw a large oval for the flower and a smaller circle for the bud. Outline the trunk with curved lines. Sketch another three curved lines to show the position of the leaves.

Step 2.

Sketch the petals
Outline the triangular petals using wavy lines. Draw an arc for the center of the flower. Outline the bud and show the petals by drawing a wavy Y-shaped line. Draw a second line for each trunk.

Step 3.

Petals and leaves
Draw the petals more carefully using wavy lines to suggest ruffled edges. Add two inner petals as shown. With curved lines, draw a leaf shape with deep grooves at the edges.

Step 4.

Body and tendons
Define the center of the flower using some inverted V-shaped lines. On them, draw a row of small ovals. Draw two trunks, making the edges as smooth as possible.

In the right leaf, draw veins with the twig, using double curved lines. You can only see the sides of the other two leaves, so draw veins from smooth to irregular.

Step 5.

Shadows and details
Add more dots and short lines in the center of the flower. Shade the edges of all the petals and leaves with short lines. Change the length of the lines.

Shade the lower part of the flowers and buds. Use very short lines to shade one side of each trunk. Add a few small spikes at the top of each stem with short V-shaped lines.
Finally, you color. Petals you color pink, flower stems and leaves you can color green.
