    Step 1

To draw a stylish cowboy hat, we will start from the top and work our way down. The top part of the cowboy hat is called the crown and that’s exactly what we’ll draw first.
Draw a line forming the right edge of the crown. The structure of the border will look like a downward slope, as shown in the illustration.

    Step 2

Create a rough sketch of the crown
Draw another downward sloping line right next to the one we drew before. Make sure that the lines at the top of the crown overlap, forming a fold.
This gives your cowboy hat a more realistic look.

    Step 3

Next, Refine the outline of the crown
Draw a curved horizontal line at the bottom, connecting both end points of the lines we drew in the previous steps. This will seal the crown and complete the outline.
After completing this step, the crown of your cowboy hat is complete.

    Step 4

Then add a headband for decoration
Draw a slightly curved horizontal line at the bottom of the crown, following the natural shape of the border.
This will be the strip or piece of fabric that surrounds the entire crown.

    Step 5

Then, draw half of the brim of the hat
In this step, we’ll work on the brim, which is the part of the cowboy hat that covers the eyes. Cowboy hats often have wide brims, so keep that in mind when drawing the brim.
Starting from the left side of the crown, draw a curved line to the right. When drawn correctly, the line will form a semicircle, as shown in the illustration.

    Step 6

Now, extend the outline of the brim
Starting at the end of the curved line we drew in the previous step, extend the line by drawing an upward diagonal line until it reaches the opposite side of the crown.

    Step 7

Add a roll on the surface of the rim
Finish the brim of your cowboy hat by closing the hem with a downward curve facing left.
The ends of this line will overlap within the rim, creating a realistic-looking crease.

    Step 8

Add details and textures on the hat
Draw a few curved lines near the edge of the rim, following its outline. These lines add texture to the material of the cowboy hat.
Avoid pressing the pencil down too hard when drawing patterns. Remember that the lighter and thinner the stroke, the more realistic it looks!

    Step 9

Add decorative patterns on the hat
Draw many circles on the hat band to decorate the cowboy hat.
As you can see in the illustration, we kept the surface of the cowboy hat simple and straightforward. However, don’t hesitate to style your cowboy hat as much as you like! You can even draw different designs printed on the material or add embellishments on it.

    Step 1

First, create the skeleton of the cowboy, starting with the head, torso, and pelvis and then create them in an oval shape. Next, describe the spine and limbs in simple lines. The lines of the first stage should be very light.

    Step 2

Describing the contours on the head will help us to depict the face. Next, create a neck in the form of a cylinder. Then, connect the chest to the pelvis, forming a cowboy body.

    Step 3

Using simple cylinders, depict the arms and legs, and using balls, depict the shoulder, elbow, and knee joints. In the same period, depict the hands and feet with loose lines.

    Step 4

So, using the lines of the second stage, describe the cowboy’s face. At the same time, outline the jawline and depict the ears. You can portray his eyes like Clint Eastwood’s to make the cowboy really cool.

    Step 5

One of the most distinctive features of a cowboy is his hat. So first, let’s depict the wide brim and then the cylindrical top.

    Step 6

Using several lines, depict a poncho that rests on the shoulders. Of course, you can repeat the cowboy suit from the example drawn by the artists of Easydrawingart.com, or create another suit for him.

    Step 7

Now depict the collar, vest and gun on hand. You can draw a cowboy with a revolver or put a Victorian rifle in his hand.

    Step 8

Now, with a few simple lines, describe the fingers. Repeat everything as the artists of Easydrawingart.com did. Remember to create the shirt cuffs.

    Step 9

Now, using a few simple lines, depict a belt with a holster hanging on it. Next, create the top edges of the boots with a pair of lines.

    Step 10

So now let’s put our pencils aside and grab an eraser to start erasing our cowboy drawing from unnecessary principles. Let’s start with the head, clean the principles from it and redraw it with a pencil or darker ink.

    Step 11

Now let’s do the same, but with the torso and arms. Using the eraser tool, erase unnecessary strokes on the cowboy drawing and mark the necessary ones with a pencil or darker ink.

    Step 12

In this phase we will actually finish drawing a cowboy. Using the same eraser, erase any remaining guides on the cowboy drawing. Darken the legs with a pencil or bold ink.

    Step 13

Now draw cowboys. You can use colored pencils, markers or paints for this. Just choose what you like best. You can repeat the palette as in a painting from Easydrawingart.com artists or use your own.

    Step 1.

Start by drawing two curved lines, positioned at a small diagonal. This outlines the edges of the hat.

    Step 2

Connect the lines at the top using a curved line.

    Step 3

Connect the lines at the bottom with a curved line, enclosing the top of the hat. This is called a crown.

    Step 4

Using a long and curved line, start outlining the brim of the hat. Loosen up to the shape of the crown of the hat.

    Step 5

Connect the far end of the hat to the crown of the hat using a curved line. For the close side, you would enclose a curved shape showing the underside of the brim facing up. Loop a long line around, crossing the bottom part of the top of the hat.

    Step 6

Remove the guide lines from the hat.

    Step 7

Draw a strip around the hat. Just above where the top of the hat meets the brim, draw a curved line. Allow it to follow the curvature of the hat.

    Step 8

Draw a decorative buckle or medallion on the hat’s ribbon. Draw a circle within a circle, erasing as needed.

    Step 9

Add textures and details to your hat. Draw an irregularly curved shape on top of the crown, noting how it concave forwards. Draw curved lines on the hat and brim to create shape and texture.

    Step 10

Color your cowboy hat. Some of the most popular colors are black, brown, white, and pink. What would a cowboy be without his horse? Learn to draw a horse with our horse drawing tutorials and set the scene
