Source; Enzo English BulldogOne of the ugliest dog breeds, the bulldog’s ugliness has caused him health problems. Its flattened face and lower jaw makes it difficult for it to breathe properly and sometimes its huge head requires the puppy to be delivered by caesarean section. Its eyesight is often poor, it can’t stand hot weather, even in a hot room, but it can’t stand the cold either. Therefore, the bulldog is an indoor dog because the temperature can be controlled. The dog has a barrel-shaped body and short, striped legs and a tail that is sometimes curled on its back like that of a pig.
Despite both its looks and the fact that it was developed to prey on bulls, the breed is gentle and lovable while retaining its original traits of bravery and endurance. It is 12 to 16 inches tall at the shoulder and weighs 49 to 55 pounds. Its short coat is easy to care for, although the folds around its face need to be kept clean. The bulldog’s health problems limit its lifespan to just eight years or so.
Neapolitan Mastiff Dog – Ugliest Dog Breeds
In 2017, a Neapolitan pet named Martha beat all those Chinese crested dogs at California’s Sonoma-Marin Fair, the Ugliest Dog in the World. There is a good reason for this. Neapolitan mastiffs have monstrously large heads filled with folds and holsters, permanently wrinkled foreheads, and sad eyes. There are even wrinkles around its front paws. A breed developed in Italy as a guardian, it is large and powerful, with a shoulder height of 26 to 29 inches and a weight of 110 to 150 pounds. A really big male can lift weights at 200 pounds. It has a long back, a thick neck, and a broad chest covered with a thick but hard coat.
The Neapolitan mastiff is a guard dog that likes to be around the family and is a good dog for families with children. However, it sheds, drools a lot, and needs protection from the heat. This big ugly dog faces health problems like hip dysplasia and rarely lives past 10 years. Despite their large size, the Neapolitan Mastiff can do well in an apartment but still requires a lot of exercise.
Chinese Crested Dog – Ugliest Dog Breeds
As one of the ugliest dogs around, this wise little pup always enters Ugliest Dog contests and often wins. The most familiar and ugliest form of this dog is hairless, leaving only a little hair on the top of the head, ears, legs, and tail. In another form, the Powderpuff has a luxurious coat and is actually quite pretty. Whether naked or full coat, the Chinese crested dog is an affectionate and playful companion that thrives in an apartment. Standing 9 to 13 inches tall at the shoulder and weighing only 5 to 12 pounds, this unlucky looking dog has a short lifespan for a small dog. It lives about 10 to 12 years.

In 2015, a graduate student from the University of California discovered two new species of peacock spiders in Queensland, Australia. She affectionately nicknamed them Sparklemuffin and Skeletor, respectively. Sparklemuffin has blue and red stripes on the belly, while the skeleton has white patches on a black background.

The Sarcastic Fringehead is a bizarre-looking fish that lives at the depths of the northeastern Pacific Ocean, where it takes shelter in burrows or tube-like structures created by other creatures. The most striking feature is the large mouth that helps determine dominance. When two males compete for territory, they press their mouths together (almost like a kiss) to determine which is the larger fish. Smaller Fringeheads will often walk away without a fight. The female will then lay her eggs in the dominant male’s shelter so she can protect them. They seem to eat a variety of prey, including plankton and squid.Fried Egg Jellyfish – Funny Name
The Fried Egg Jellyfish looks exactly like an egg yolk floating on top of water, while the purple appendage and white nib running out the back look a bit like a tassel at the neck. Although these appendages are very effective at trapping and eating small plankton, the sting is so mild that the fish will take shelter under the giant bell and the crabs will even lunge at times. There are three recognized species, which can be found in the Atlantic, Indian and Mediterranean Seas. Although they have the ability to move around thanks to the power of the ringing bell, most of the time they remain motionless in the water to feed. The short life cycle, lasting only six months between summer and winter, may be an adaptation to the large seasonal changes of the local ecosystem.
