    Step 1

    Start by drawing a circle. This will form the head of the zebra.

    Step 2

    Draw a smaller circle near the first shape. This will form the zebra’s muzzle.

    Step 3

    Draw a large and rounded rectangle to form the zebra’s body. Start by drawing two horizontal, parallel lines. Then connect the lines using two curved lines.

    Step 4

    Connect the muzzle to the head and the head to the body, using two pairs of lines.

    Step 5

    Erase the guide lines from the head, neck, and torso.

    Step 6

    Draw legs. For each leg, draw a set of long, straight, parallel lines from the body down. Connect the lines at the bottom with a short, straight line, thus enclosing the long and narrow rectangles. Indicate the hooves by drawing a short, straight line through the bottom of each leg. For the proximal legs, draw a set of curves at the top of each leg, indicating the shoulders and hips.

    Step 7

    Add details to your zebra. Draw two curved triangles extending from the head, forming the ears. Draw a long, curved line from the top of the head to the back to form the mane. Finally, extend two curved, parallel lines from the hips to form the tail. Allow the lines to diverge at the end and connect them with a short, curved line. This shows the tuft of feathers at the tip of the tail.

    Step 8

    Erase the guide lines from the legs, ears and tail.

    Step 9

    Every zebra must have stripes. Draw thick and curved lines along the mane, legs, and tail. Shade the tip of the tail. On the neck and back, draw narrow, curved triangles and shade inside them. Finally, give your zebra a smile. Draw a curved line through the end of the muzzle and another curved line to indicate the mouth.

    Step 10

    Color your zebra. Zebras are white with black or brown stripes.

    Step 1

    Start by drawing an angled line that forms the zebra’s mane. For the ears, add two small ovals with pointed ends on either side of the mane.

    The mane and right ear are drawn on the top left side of the paper to leave enough space for the entire head and body of the zebra.

    To ensure this, you can create reference lines by drawing an intersecting horizontal and vertical line on your paper.

    This tutorial will divide your paper into four square blanks. The figure in the upper left corner marks where you should start drawing.

    Step 2

    Create the outline of the zebra’s head
    Draw an uneven curved shape underneath the zebra’s mane and ears. This gives the shape of a zebra’s head.

    Don’t forget to emphasize the zebra’s muzzle by making it slightly elongated.

    Step 3

    Next, draw the long and thick mane of the zebra
    Extend the lines of the zebra’s mane at the top of its head to complete the entire mane. Bring the line into a downward curve, outlining the shape of the mane.

    Make sure that the mane is pointed at the bottom, as shown in the illustration.

    Step 4

    Rough sketch of the zebra’s body
    Draw a curved line just below the zebra’s head to form the neck. Then draw an irregular sideways oval that is directly connected to the neck and head of the zebra.

    This forms the entire body of the zebra.

    Avoid pressing down too hard with the pencil when drawing rough sketches of the zebra’s body.

    It’s important to draw with light strokes so you can easily erase any parts of the outline that you don’t need later.

    Step 5

    Then draw the zebra’s front legs
    Below the zebra chest, draw two vertical lines parallel to a horizontal line at the bottom. This creates a zebra’s front leg.

    Then, draw a similar shape right next to the first front leg to complete the zebra’s front legs. Since the zebra is facing to the side, the forelegs on the back cannot be seen at all.

    Don’t forget to erase any lines on the torso that overlap the inside of the legs! This will ensure that your drawing looks neat and most importantly, refined.

    Step 6

    Complete all four legs of the zebra
    Repeat the previous step underneath the back of the zebra. This creates the zebra’s hind legs.

    After completing this step, all four legs of the zebra should be fully formed, as shown in the illustration above.

    Step 7

    Then add the zebra’s hairy tail
    Draw a curved shape with a pointed end attached to the zebra’s lower back.

    This creates the thick and hairy tail of the zebra.

    Step 8

    More details and patterns of the zebra
    Draw several parallel lines on the zebra’s mane. Then draw a curved line at the bottom of the body and outline the underside of the zebra.

    Then draw a line just above the edge of all four legs of the zebra to create the hooves.

    Step 9

    Create a distinct zebra stripe pattern
    The zebra wouldn’t be complete without its unique stripes all over the body, so that’s what we’ll be drawing in this step.

    Draw many pointed shapes on the top edge of the zebra’s body. Remember to add similar patterns on all four legs of the zebra!

    Now, to complete your drawing, add facial features. Proceed to draw a vertical oval for the eyes and a small circle for the nose above the muzzle.

    Finally, draw a shape inside the ear according to its shape.

    Here’s the fun part — pick and color the zebra! This is the part where you can show your artistic talent, especially the ability to mix and match different colors.

    As we all know, the coat of a zebra is black and white. You can choose to color the zebra with its original colors or use a unique set of colors.
