Due to circumstances beyond my control, she was home alone most of that time with someone driving from 1½ hours away to let her out just once a day and she still didn’t potty in the house. I wish she were still in my bed next to me instead of a box on my mantle but her impact on my life is permanent. She had the longest, best life I was able to give her and I believe that with my whole heart.

I work about 100 yards from my house and when I get home you’d think my two dogs thought I was never coming back. I love it! It’s my favorite part of coming home. They get more excited than my kid does that’s for sure.

I had a few hermit crabs when I was a kid and I took good care of them so they live a long time. That’s what makes me sad when I see a bunch of broken claws, eye stalks and legs. We buried it and were very sad but the next day we looked in the barn and all the crabs were still there. The crab had actually molted and just took this opportunity to shed its claws, legs, and eye stalks.
Growing up with a bunch of really great pets is not something I can or want to do now. I love them all (for the most part). Minus the screams from the love birds. I also volunteer at my favorite Pet Store and that’s how I discovered I’m not a bird person. Especially the large parrots screaming shrill. I don’t regret working there, because since that time I have owned exactly 0 birds. My only exceptions are sparrows and canaries, for they make such lovely melodious calls. Our experiences shape us, just because you can own something truly amazing, that same thing can become your nightmare. As the years go by, I still think people owning pets is the worst idea. Animals develop, behavioral problems due to our inability to take care of them properly, due to our species differences. With that said, pets will always be an issue, and in 2022, there’s so much information online that people have no excuse not to be well-informed. I know life is short, and we only have one life. But do not destroy other animals, in this way, to make your child better.

But I don’t think they’re legal where I live, we have some of the strictest restrictions in the world. I have 2 dogs now, a worm farm and I had an Extatosoma tiaratum but it died, but its eggs are hatching now so I have plenty.
My family has quite a few goats, one of the best things is that they are friendly and of course cute, but you have to make sure they have something like a big rock or a stump or something like that to they play, although adults don’t play as much as they like to play, one of the most frustrating parts with my goats is that they can jump very high, so make sure you have a really big fence to keep them! My mom had to make her own and put sticks on top of our fence to keep them in place, but they’re pretty much worth it, especially when they’re little, they’re so cute

I will never forget my dad’s birthday, when he turned 64, I surprised him by hiding myself in a big box and when he opened it, which he and the other people in my family didn’t know I was there. He stood there for a few seconds in shock and then immediately burst into tears. And every other family member did the same and hugged me. I’m retired and no longer in the army, but watching the soldier reunite with his daughter brought tears to my eyes.
