Step 1

Start by drawing the anime girl’s face. Draw three small circles in a row to form the eyes. The shade between the two is the smallest to indicate the pupil. Use a thick curved line above and a curved line below to give them the classic square shape of anime eyes. Then use curved lines to draw eyebrows, nose and lips.

Step 2

Draw anime girl’s hair. Above the face, draw curved lines that meet at points pointing downwards. Then draw lines extending along the edges of the face.

Step 3

Use curved lines to outline the pointed ears and chin. Then extend two curved lines for the neck and join them at the bottom. Draw an inverted triangle below the neck and a curved triangle on each side of the neck to form the collar.

Step 4

Use curved lines to outline the long hair on the top and sides of the head. Hair texture with short curves. Draw a small circle below the neck. Extend a curved line from each of its sides and duplicate it back to enclose an irregular shape. This is the tie or bow at the neck of a sailor suit.

Step 5

Use curved lines to outline the sleeve, upper arm, lower arm, and hand. Note the narrow “U” shaped lines forming the overlapping fingers and the short lines contouring the girl’s palm.

Step 6

Use curved lines to draw the sleeve, arm, hand, and remaining finger.

Step 7

Draw curved lines to form the sides of the torso and the seams of the sleeves. Connect them at the bottom using a curved line and draw a short line to indicate the border or crease in the fabric. Below the torso, draw more curves to form the edges of the skirt and the pleats. Connect the edges of each fold with a curved line.

Step 8

Draw legs. Using a pair of long curved lines, note the curvature of the knee. At the bottom, use curved lines to enclose the irregular shape of the shoe. Draw a short curved line at the knee and tie the leg with a curved line just below to indicate the top of the high sock.

Step 9

Outline the remaining leg using long, curved lines. Draw the shoe at the bottom. Bandage the leg with a curved line and use a short line to draw the knee detail.

Step 10

Color your cartoon girl. You can polish it with a pencil or color it. She’s wearing a sailor outfit, usually navy and white with a red tie of your choice.
