Step 1

Begin by using a series of curved lines to enclose an oval, cloud-like object. This forms the soft fur on the poodle’s body.

Step 2

Enclose a small curved rectangle at the top of the shape, erasing if necessary. This shows the poodle’s collar. Draw two overlapping curved lines to form the neck, lower jaw, and lower part of the snout. Enclose an irregular oval nose and extend another curved line for the tip of the snout. Draw a small oval for the eye, with short curved lines for the eyelashes.

Step 3

Use a series of curved lines to create a soft “L” shape, enclosing the ears and the fur on top of the head. Use a small circle and two curved lines to attach a bow on the forehead.

Step 4

Use a curved line to enclose an irregular shape on one side of the torso, completing the body. Below this, use curved lines to enclose another cloud-like shape. This shows the hair of the legs and hips.

Step 5

Enclose the oval of the leg, erasing if necessary. At the bottom of the leg, use a series of curved lines to enclose the cloud shape of the fur around the ankle. Enclose the foot with a curved line and differentiate the toes with short curved lines.

Step 6

Draw the remaining hind leg. Use a curved line for the upper leg and a series of curved lines for the fur around the ankle. Then enclose the shape of the foot and toes.

Step 7

Draw the front legs. Extend two curved lines for the upper leg, followed by a cloud-like feather shape. Extend a line and double it to form the foot. Use short lines to differentiate the toes.

Step 8

Draw the remaining front leg. Again, extend two curved lines for the upper leg, followed by the cloud-like feather shape. Extend a line and double it to form the foot. Use short lines to differentiate the toes.

Step 9

Extend the two curved lines to form the tail. Connect them at the end with a cloud-like circle.

Step 10

Color your cartoon poodle. In fact, poodle dogs often have white, black, brown or gray fur. In fiction or through cosmetic use, they may appear pink or other colors.
