You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below
Step 1
Start by drawing a sideways oval in the top left of your paper. This creates the shape of the panda’s head.
Then draw an angled shape on both sides of the lower part of the head. This creates the panda’s distinct furry cheeks!
When drawing sketches or rough sketches, it is important to draw with light handles and gentle strokes. This ensures that you can easily remove some parts of the border that you may not need later.
Step 2
Create an outline of the panda’s head
Erase the bottom part of the overlapping ovals in the picture. This will refine the shape of the panda’s head.
After completing this step, the outline of the panda’s head will now be polished. Therefore, it will look more refined and easy on the eyes.
Step 3
Then, Draw the Snout of the Raccoon
Draw a curved line on the lower middle part of the panda’s head. Then draw a small oval to the side at the bottom of the curve. This forms the raccoon’s snout and nose.
Make sure that the snout is slightly pointed towards the end — that’s one of the most distinguishing features of pandas!
Don’t forget to remove the border that overlaps the muzzle!
Step 4
Next, Draw Panda’s Ears
Draw two inverted V-shaped lines on both sides at the top of the panda’s head. This forms the panda’s ears.
Similar to the previous steps, make sure to remove overlapping lines in any part of the panda’s body. This helps keep your drawings neat and orderly, and most importantly, refined.
Step 5
Then outline the panda’s body
After creating the panda’s head, it’s time to structure its body. Continue by drawing a circle just below the panda’s head.
Remember to draw some spiky fur on the surface of the body to add texture, making it look like feathers and lifelike!
Step 6
Now let’s draw the panda’s fluffy tail
Draw an elongated, pointed shape that connects to the bottom back of the panda. This forms the panda’s tail.
Pandas usually have thick, soft tails, so keep that in mind when drawing them!
Step 7
Draw all four limbs of the panda
Draw a long curved shape with the claws on the right side of the panda’s chest to form its right front leg. Then draw the visible claws of the left front paw on the opposite side.
Then draw a wider curved shape with the foot to structure the right hind leg. Remember that a panda’s hind legs should be slightly thicker than its front legs.
Since the panda is facing left, its left leg is not visible, as shown in the illustration above.
Step 8
Add patterns on the panda’s ears and tail
Pandas have distinct patterns on their tails, so that’s exactly what we’ll be studying in this step.
Continue by drawing more parallel lines across the entire tail. When drawn correctly, it will create a “striped” pattern on the panda’s tail.
Now, draw a triangle inside each of the panda’s ears. This creates the appearance of an inner ear or inner ear.
Step 9
Now draw the panda’s facial features
Draw two small circles with a smaller circle inside on the upper part of the panda’s face. This forms the panda’s eyes.
