How to Draw a Wine Glass step by step

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

Start by drawing a circle. This will help you outline the shape of the glass.

Step 2

Draw a horizontal oval that intersects the top of the circle. This forms the hole in the top of the glass.

Step 3

Draw a vertical line extending from the bottom of the circle. This will help you shape the body of the wine glass. Then draw an oval around the bottom of the line. This forms the base of the glass.

Step 4

Erase the unnecessary lines of the original circle, above and inside the horizontal oval.

Step 5

Draw a long, curved line from one side of the horizontal oval, around the bottom of the circle, to the opposite side of the oval. This outlines the shape of the glass.

Step 6

Erase the remaining guides of the original circle. Then draw a pair of downward curved lines from the bottom of the glass. The lines must converge but not touch each other, stopping before reaching the bottom of the glass. Then draw a circular section connecting these lines and intersecting the bottom. Draw a “V” shape where the vertical line touches the bottom. These additions detail the body of the glass.

Step 7

Use a curved line to enclose an irregular circle below the partial circle at the bottom of the stem.

Step 8

Remove the vertical guides and any overlapping lines from the body and base. Then draw two curved lines near the top of the glass. This shows that the liquid is kept in the glass.

Step 9

Make the glass and wine inside sparkle by adding curved shapes. Place these spikes on the bottom of the glass, the top of the wine, and the sides of the wine.

Step 10

Color your wine glass. Red wine has a deep burgundy color, rosé wine is pink, and white wine is pale yellow.
