Step 1
Start with a cross-section of a lollipop but draw the tip in a teardrop shape. This will be your guide to the placement of facial features.
Step 2
Draw a small circle for the body and a large oval for the bottom. From here, Beedrill will look like an ant.
Step 3
Draw some guide lines for the arms.
Step 4
Draw some guide lines for the legs. The right leg starts at the top of the large oval near the torso.
Step 5
Draw two large teardrop shapes and two small ovals in the back for Beedrill’s wings. Remember that they should look like butterfly wings. Also note that the wings look like a ‘B’ shape (I’ve marked them in red).
Step 6
Draw two thick lowercase letter shapes ‘r’ on the top of the head for the beard and two ovals for the eyes.
Step 7
Draw some muscles in the guide arms and legs. Make sure to keep the Beedrill’s arms and legs thin and insect-free.
Step 8
Draw some stripes on the large oval and a “V” shape on the hands and bottom for the nib and drill bit.
Step 9
Draw some miscellaneous lines on the wing to make it more insect-like. I point out some letters that I see in the shape of the lines. I hope this helps you.
