You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below
Step 1
Start sketching the seaweed by drawing a seashell. Use curved lines to outline the trapezoid’s base and its scalloped sides. Outline the shell surface with curved lines. Learn more about how to draw seashells here. Then, extend a wavy line upward from the shell. This will become the central vein of the first seaweed leaf.
Step 2
Complete the leaf’s outline by drawing two more wavy lines, one on each side of the vein. Allow the lines to meet at a point above the vein. At the base of the tree, place two circles. These are rocks on the ocean floor.
Step 3
Draw another seaweed leaf. Again, use wavy lines for the veins and edges of the leaf. Attach the irregular circle of another rock at the base of the tree.
Step 4
Draw another oval rock. From there, extend a wavy line upward to form the veins of another leaf.
Step 5
Outline the leaf using wavy lines that meet at a point above the central vein.
Step 6
Draw additional leaves partially hidden behind the existing leaves. For each one, use wavy lines for the ribs and outer edges.
Step 7
Draw a few more leaves protruding behind the seaweed sheet. Use wavy lines that meet at points at the top.
Step 8
Draw a few more leaves at the top of the tree group. Use wavy lines that meet at points, with a rib running down the middle.
Step 9
Use overlapping curved lines to draw a spiral shell at the base of the seaweed. Finish the shell with a triangular point. Then, draw round bubbles of different sizes floating around the seaweed.
Step 10
Color your seaweed drawing
Your seaweed sketch is now complete. Color the seaweed green.
