Step 1
To start this tutorial on how to draw a teddy bear, we will start with the head of the teddy bear.
To do this, you can use a long, curved line for the top of the head, then use a smaller, curved line at the bottom for the teddy bear’s chin.
Once you’ve finished this initial sketch, we can move on to the next step!
Step 2
Next, draw your teddy bear’s ears
Your teddy bear drawing needs some nice round ears, so add some in this step. This should be a pretty simple step, as all you need to do is draw some curves and circles on top of your head.
They may look simple now, but we’ll add some details to them later.
Step 3
Now let’s draw the first arm of the bear
As you can see in our reference image showing the final product, this teddy bear will give a friendly wave.
For the arm, start it from the line of the head, then curve it up and around as it appears in the reference image.
It’s a simple shape, but it’s effective in creating a waving arm, as you’ll see when you draw it!
Step 4
Next, draw the rest of the teddy bear’s torso and arms
Your bear needs a body, so we’ll start drawing one in this step of the teddy bear tutorial.
For the back of the bear, you can use a simple curved line going down from the waving arm you drew in the previous step.
You can then use a circular line for the arm from the right side of the head, and use another line under the arm for the teddy’s belly.
Step 5
Draw legs for your teddy bear
The teddy bear has some round, thick legs that are also quite short, so we will draw them for your teddy bear drawing.
Simply draw some circles coming out from the bear’s torso and let them come out horizontally to show that the bear is sitting down. That’s all it takes for this step!
Step 6
Next, draw some pads on the ends of the limbs
We will start adding some details to your teddy bear drawing from this step onwards. For now, we’ll draw some pads on your teddy bear’s paw.
To do this, simply draw some circles and ovals over the top of the arm and the bottom of the foot.
Step 7
Draw some crease details
Before drawing your teddy bear’s face, we will add some simple line details to give it more texture.
As you can see in the reference image, we have added two small lines near the legs to create the crease of the teddy bear’s fabric. You can also add some lines if you want even more detail for your bear!
Step 8
Now, draw the face and final details
This teddy bear is missing something, and it should be pretty obvious what it is!
The bear needs a face, so we’re going to draw a face for this step of the how to draw a teddy bear tutorial.
The face is pretty simple to draw, as all you need are two small circles for the eyes, a small oval for the nose, and some curves for the smiley mouth.
You can then add some final details, such as the lines on the head and on the ears for more crease detail.
Step 9
Complete your teddy bear with several colors
For the final step of your teddy bear drawing, it’s time to finish with some color. This is the step where you can really express your creativity and style!
