Step 1
Determine the eye size Determine the size you want for an eye and use 2 ticks to mark the boundary for that eye. Use the ruler to draw a line across the ticks and across the right side of the page. Then measure the first space and multiply it by 3. You should now have 3 equal spaces on your sketchbook horizontally.
Step 2
Draw a circle Draw a circle for each eye. Make sure each circle is within the boundary.
Step 3
Specify the angle for each eye Determine the angle you want the eyes to slant and draw a line through each circle, making sure the angles are similar. Watch the video for tips on how you can do this.
Step 4
Draw the eye shapes Draw the inner and outer corners of each eye where the slant intersects the circle. The inner corner of each eye should be deeper and darker than the outer corner or tail. When you draw the tail crease, let your lines become softer instead of having a hard edge. Finally, draw a set of curved lines to form the eyelids.
Step 5
Draw the shape of each eyebrow Use my shading technique to draw a set of eyebrows. I like to draw the eyebrows right above the circle and slightly wider than each eye. In the video, I show you the right eyebrow technique as well as where to draw the arc. We will detail the eyebrows later. Let’s move on to the next step!
Step 6
Shading Before shading, make sure that the guides you drew in steps 1-3 are only slightly visible. You can use your kneaded eraser to roll a layer of graphite off those areas. Let’s start by shading the upper eyelid. Use the side of the pencil to draw a shape similar to an almond. The circle around each eye can help you see if the shading on your right eye is the same as the left eye. If you want to draw details like dark circles under your eyes, you can use circles as a guide. Watch the video for an example. Add some slight shading to the bridge of the nose. Once you’re done, delete what’s left of each circle.

Step 8
Drawing eyebrows Here, I switched to my 0.5mm 4B pencil. Starting at the bottom of each eyebrow, draw strokes upwards. Remember to lift your pencil after each stroke to make the hairs look more realistic. For a super detailed tutorial on this, check out this tutorial. At the top of each eyebrow, draw strokes down. Add some hair going down the middle if it still looks bare. This step is very subtle, but also very important. Use the HB pencil to fill in just below each eyebrow. Make sure the transition is slow. Now the brows look like they belong, instead of just glued to the skin.
Step 9
Add Eyelid Wrinkles This step is optional… but it’s fun, so why not do it? This is more of a crease than a wrinkle. When the eyes are open, a wrinkle forms on the eyelids. Use the H pencil and the lightest pressure to draw two folds. The darker you paint them, the deeper they will appear. Draw a row of curved diagonal lines along the edge of each eyelid. This area of skin is very thin – wrinkles when the skin is stretched. You will also want to use an H pencil for this. Depending on where the light is coming from in your drawing, blend the opposite side of each drawn diagonal. the light is coming from above, so the side of each wrinkle facing the light will be left alone, while the side facing the light will need to be blended. Unless you’re painting this on a large scale, avoid using a blend stump as the pointed tip won’t be thin enough for this job. Instead, use the H and HB pencils to create a nice gradient along each crease. Using a kneaded eraser, glide over the areas of each crease facing the light and dab lightly on the stapled end of the kneaded eraser to create a thin graphite line. Highlights should appear brighter and wrinkles should become clearer and more seductive.
Step 10
Drawing eyelashes To start, draw 3 eyelashes for each eye. One on the leftmost, one on the right, and one in the middle. The eyelashes should be spread apart, apart. If you want to be really careful, lightly draw your lashes with an H or HB pencil to start. Once you’re okay with the position, curvature and length, etc., use a darker pencil like 4B. Here, I used a 4B 0.5mm lead. Take your time to fill in the gaps in between. It’s okay for some eyelashes to touch each other. It actually looks more natural when they form a triangle or even cross each other. Finally, use an HB or 2B pencil to shade directly under the upper eyelid to create a slight shadow from the lashes.

Step 1:
Okay, to start, draw the basic almond-shaped outline of the eye. Try to make the inner corner (next to the nose) lower than the outer corner. P.S, I’m very sorry the pictures hard to see, my scanner made it very light.
Step 2
Inner Circle
Now draw the inner circle of the eye.
Step 3
Pupil and Highlight
Draw the highlight first, then the pupil under it. Make sure the pupil is in the center of the circle.
Step 4
Fill in the Pupil
Use your dark 6B or 8B to fill it in. You want it as close to black as possible.
Step 5
Upper and Lower Eyelid
Draw the crease of the upper eyelid, and the bottom one too. I’m not sure if its called the lower eyelid, but its the line under the eye.
Step 6
Begin Drawing the Eyelashes
Draw a few eyelashes to show where you will later draw in larger clumps of lashes. Kinda like a basic outline. Sort of.
Step 7
Darken a Few Things Up
Darken the inner circle in the eye, the outline of the eye, and draw a line in the inner corner (as showed in the picture)
Step 8
Lines and Lashes
Start filling in some more lashes, and add some lines inside the inner circle of the eye.

LASHES!!!!!
Now, really fill in the lashes with your darker pencil. If drawing a male eye, make the lashes a little lighter than if drawing a female eye. In this instance, I am drawing a female eye.
Step 14
Shading
Shade inside the eye, and it helps to smudge it with your finger tip or a tortilion. ( Hehe, I just realized how dark I shaded this eye, you can shade it a tad lighter than this.)
Step 15
Finishing Touches
Shade the corners of the eye, and the eyelids. YAY!!!!! your all done!!!!!!

Step 1
Let’s start creating a dog from its skeleton. Use simple and barely visible lines to depict the head, chest, and pelvis. Use the same simple lines to create the spine, tail, and legs. Note that this tutorial on how to draw a realistic dog starts out like our simpler tutorial.
Step 2
Now, using a few lines of light, create the outline of the muzzle and the hanging ears. As always, we remind you that we are giving the best and most classic example. You can modify your drawing by changing certain details on your artwork.
Step 3
Now contour the forelimbs with rough and loose lines. In the future, we will give them a more detailed and complete view. Now, we need to position the front leg in the most correct way, for the correct volume.
Step 4
Now, use a few smooth lines to create the top and bottom edges of the body. Note that the torso should taper slightly at the abdomen. Next, use light lines to outline the tail. If you want to check the accuracy and proportionality of your sketch, look at it in the mirror.
Step 5
Now let’s move on to the real dog’s hind legs, create them with the help of light lines in the same way as we did a little bit earlier with the front legs. The hind legs should be significantly thicker at the top and tapering towards the middle.
Step 6
It’s time to get down to the details and make the realistic dog drawing really convincing. Starting with the eyes, outline them into two almond-shaped geometric shapes. The eyes should be slightly above the center of the head shadow. Draw a nose just below the eye. In one of the previous tutorials, we talked about how to draw a dog’s nose in detail.
Step 7
Draw the mouth just below the nose. First, draw the upper jaw, then draw the lower jaw. By adding creases around the muzzle, as in our example, you will make your sketch more realistic and convincing. Step 8
Now it’s time to add some detail to the front legs. Using darker lines, carefully draw the outlines of the front legs. When creating the details of the forelegs, note the contours of the muscles and bones under the skin. Draw short toes and claws. To make the dog look more realistic, add folds on the neck like in our example.
Step 9
Now do the same with the hind legs, i.e., carefully draw them with sharper and darker lines. Draw the toes and claws. As a reminder, you can add some volume to your dog sketch by making the near lines darker than the farther lines. We talked about this in our article on aerial views.
Step 10
Add some finishing touches. For example, we made the tail more detailed and the ears darker. Alternatively, you can add more pleats or paint some interesting textures on the bodice.
Step 11
Remove all unnecessary principles from your sketch. Give the necessary lines a little more tonality. Compare your drawing with our example, look at it in the mirror and move away from it to find errors and if they have been made, it’s time to correct them.
Step 13
Now it’s time to make your artwork truly three-dimensional and convincing. To do this, you need to use stroke and shading, as shown in our example. Start from the darkest areas, gradually working towards the lighter areas. Darken the eyes, leaving small highlights in them.

Step 1
Start sketching cartoon dog by drawing its face. Outline the eyes using curved lines. Widen one eye to form the tip of the long snout or muzzle.
Step 2
At the end of the muzzle, draw a circle. This is the dog’s nose. Use curved lines to trace one side of the dog’s face and its forehead. Above the eyes, use curved lines to enclose the pointed brow
Step 3
Draw the dog’s open and smiling mouth. Below the nose, draw a wide curved line in the shape of a “W”. Let it meet the nose on one side. On the other hand, extend the arm of the letter “W” to the corner of the mouth.
Below, use curved lines to outline the lower jaw, the inside of the mouth, and the tongue. Line the corners of the mouth with short lines. In front of the muzzle, draw two small, triangular teeth.
Step 4

Outline the chest with a curved line and draw the rest of the front legs. Again, use curves. Those in the toes should overlap.
Step 7
Draw the hind legs, bent into a sitting position, using curved lines. Again, the toes should use overlapping curves.
Step 8
Draw the other leg of the sitting dog. Use curved lines for the back, arched legs, and rounded feet. Draw your feet with short lines.
Step 9
Complete your dog cartoon sketch by drawing its wagging tail. Extend two curved lines from the dog’s hips and let them meet at a sharp point. Next to the tail, sketch an open mark pattern using curves to simulate tail movement.

Step 1
Start sketching your dog by drawing an oval. This will become the muzzle or muzzle of the cartoon dog. Draw another, smaller, oval inside it to form the nose. Draw a wide, round “W” shape below the nose to form the mouth.
Step 2

Step 1
Draw an irregular circle to outline the shape of the dog’s head.
Emphasize both sides of its face when drawing the head to form chubby cheeks. This will definitely make your dog look more adorable!
Make sure that the outline of your dog’s face is drawn in the upper part of the paper. This ensures that there will be enough space at the bottom for its body.
Step 2
Sketch the dog’s head and body
Draw the outline of the dog’s body just below its head. As you can see in the illustration, its body is positioned to the side because the dog is looking towards its left side.
You can choose to follow the figure in the illustration exactly or position the dog any way you want!
Step 3
Put a collar on the dog’s neck
Draw a long, narrow rectangle across the dog’s neck to create the collar. Don’t forget to adorn the collar with a dangling bauble at the bottom!
Feel free to style and design the collar any way you want! You can add a pattern on the collar or customize the ornament that hangs down the collar.
Step 4
Draw a dog’s front paw
Draw the dog’s front paw with a paw just below its chest. Don’t forget to add three toes on each foot!
You can create the feet by drawing separate curves to form the toes.
Step 5
Next, Draw the dog’s hind legs
Now that we have successfully drawn the dog’s front paws, it’s time to draw the front paws at the back to complete its set of legs.
Create a bent hind leg by drawing a curved line towards the bottom of the dog’s back. Then draw a foot with three toes just below the foot.
Since the dog is facing sideways, only one hind leg should be visible, as shown in the illustration.
Step 6
Then Draw a Dog’s Tail
Shape your dog’s tail by drawing a narrow, curved line with a tapered end. Draw the outline of the tail upwards to make your dog seem happy and interested.
In the illustration we drew a pointed tail, but you can certainly draw a hairy tail or any shape or form of tail you like.
Step 7
Then draw a pair of dog ears
Continue by drawing an ear on each side of the dog’s face. We think the giant drooping or folded ears look best, as shown in the illustration.
However, don’t hesitate to draw the ear any way you want, whether it’s standing upright or cropped.
Remember, the texture of a dog’s ears largely depends on the breed and the emotions they’re feeling.
Step 8
Now, Draw Nose and Mouth
On the bottom part of the face, draw an upside down triangle to outline the dog’s nose.
Then, draw two curved lines upwards connecting each other to create a lip line. Now, to structure the mouth, draw a V-shaped curve just below the lips. Don’t forget to add a curve inside the mouth to create the tongue!
Step 9
Draw eyes to complete the drawing
Complete your drawing by completing your dog’s facial features.
Step 10
Draw two vertical ovals above its nose to outline the eyes. Then draw two small circles inside the eyes. Shade the entire eye except for the small circles.
These two little circles with no ghosting will act as the “glitters” in your dog’s eyes, adding a more dramatic effect to his facial expressions.

Step 1: draw eyeballs
Lightly draw or draw a circle for the eyeball. It doesn’t have to be perfect as we will use it minimally while building our eyes and then remove it altogether. In case you were wondering, my circle is 6cm in diameter.
Step 2: draw the cornea
Draw a small bump or cornea in the direction you want the eye to face. I want to face the right side, so I’m going to draw my cornea from the right side. In terms of size, the length of the cornea is roughly half the diameter of the eyeball (or the length of the radius).
Step 3: draw the iris and the pupil
Now draw the iris creating a curve tangent to the upper and lower parts of the cornea. Make sure your work is light so you can make changes easily.
Remove the part of the eyeball that crosses the iris/cornea. Then, inside the iris, draw a narrow oval for the pupil.
Step 4: Draw the eyelids
Now let’s draw the eyelids. Starting from the center of the eyeball, gently draw a curved line for the upper eyelid. It can partially cover your iris or fully expose it, then wrap the eyelid around the other side of your eyeball.
To draw the lower eyelid, create a curved line where the eyelids meet, then continue sweeping down the iris.
An example of a narrow eye (The iris is more exposed at the bottom than the top. Normally when we open our eyes, the iris is most exposed at the bottom, not the top.) So if you want to draw a narrow eye, keep this in mind: okay, move on! Just above the upper eyelid, draw the crease of the eyelid.
You can use the eyelid shape as a reference or draw a crease with a more unique shape. Connect this pencil line to your upper lash line using a slight curve.
To finish the bottom flap, I draw an almost straight line down, but you can angle it outward or inward if you want. You can add wrinkles to the corners of your eyes or the tips of your eyelids if you wish. An example of a protruding eye.
Tip: If you roll the eyelid skin very close to the eyeball, you can create a bulging eye effect: Once done, erase the circular guide and the parts of the iris that are out of the line of sight .
Step 5: Position the eyebrows
Now let’s see where to put the eyebrows. Lines from left to right: tail, arch and top of the eyebrows.
Draw a very thin line at the tip of your eye, another line from the edge of the cornea, then a perpendicular line away from the eye, similar to the image above.
They are for the tail, the arch and the tips of the eyebrows. Eyebrows come in all shapes and sizes, so don’t worry too much about this part. These are only rudimentary instructions.
Now that we have 3 guides, we can draw our eyebrows more easily – use them as rough paths/boundaries. You can draw your eyebrows lower or higher than mine if you want, and you can draw as thick as you want.
Keep your pencil strokes extremely light so your outline doesn’t come out later – This will take away from the realistic effect we’re looking for. When you are satisfied with the shape of your eyebrows, remove the 3 rules above. We’ll add the eyebrows later!
Step 6: Draw the highlight / reflection
Let’s add some highlights in the eyes. Highlights are the lightest areas of the drawing. The highlight can come from a nearby window or any light source.
Here are some sample shapes: These shapes are all curved because the eyeball is curved, so a rectangular window, for example, might look like a C-shape.
You can create your own shapes and stretch them over the eyeball, covering as much or as little space as you want. If you wish, you can add accent obstacles, such as the silhouette of a person standing in front of the window or curtains.
You can even create a gradient on your highlights to show the difference in light intensity. Anyway, once your highlights are drawn, erase all the lines that cross them, clean them up. I like to use my kneaded eraser for this, rolling the end until it’s pointy, then pulling out the graphite.
Here’s a close-up: you can even flatten your eraser to work at an angle: during the drawing process, try to keep the highlights as clean as possible so they can stand out.
Step 7: Shade the pupils
Time for some shade! Let’s start with the pupil, shade it very dark, since it’s actually a hole in the iris.
Step 8: Shade the iris
Next, we are going to shade the iris. Remember to be very careful around the highlights as we want to keep their edges sharp. You can make the shadow as light or dark as you want without darkening the pupil.
I recommend blending the iris now, using a paper towel or a blending stump for example, to make it smoother before moving on to the next step, or you can skip blending if you wish.
I combine all my drawing at the end to keep the Youtube video short. But I highly recommend blending as you go because it’s much easier that way and you can avoid messing up your work in the process.
I shade the light values, blend them, then add shadows, I try to blend only the shadows so I don’t spill the darker graphite into the lighter areas. Then finally I add details. If I need to blend after the details have been added, I blend around them, being very careful not to blur or smudge my detail work.
My imaginary light source is coming from the top right, so I’m making the top of the iris darker because the shape of the iris is recessed, so the top of the iris is actually facing the light, while the lower part of the iris points towards the light.
As I go up, I apply less and less pressure to achieve a gradient, as the concave shape of the iris begins to curve / towards the light.
Alternatively, you can shade the upper part of the iris even more to create a shadow from the eyelid.
What I like to do is make the outline of the iris darker than the body of the iris to create more contrast, but that’s entirely up to you.
The big highlight is too strong for my taste, so I’m going to make it more subtle by painting a gradient over it, making it dark at the bottom and lighter at the top, like my example showed you earlier:
When you’re done shading the iris, make sure the outline of each highlight is no longer visible. If it remains, you may need to erase it a bit or paint the surrounding area a bit darker to make it blend in/disappear.
Alright, this is the quick and easy version for shading the iris. If you want more details, you can apply the following steps…
Step 9: More detailed version of Iris
This part is optional, but to make the iris more interesting you can add some small details like lines extending outward from the center. Use your pencil and eraser to draw these lines.
If you want to draw straight lines, you can flatten your kneaded eraser, then simply press and lift the graphite or lightly rub it. If you curve your lines closer to the pupil (the hole inside the iris), you can make the iris look more 3D.
Try slanting or randomly spacing some of your lines and changing the thickness to make them look more natural. An example of a meandering line. You can use a kneading eraser or a solid eraser for this. You can draw doodle shapes instead if you want.
I’m drawing this example on the same iris, but I would recommend going with just one style or merging the two. An eraser will definitely work too, just make sure it’s sharp enough. You can cut the eraser to make it as neat as you want. Also suitable for overlapping squares.
Next, use a pencil to darken some of the spaces between your squares to add depth and contrast. These lines and squares are both part of the iris, so we’ll need to shade them the same way we shaded the iris before adding them. Remember we shaded the top part of the iris? I do it again, except this time, lighter.
Oh, and shade the outside of your pupil if you want the area to appear deeper. Anyway, this is the detailed version of the iris. Of course, you can stick with the simplified version.
Step 10: Blend the whites of the eyes
Now polish the whites of the eyes. They’re called the whites of the eyes, but they’re not exactly white, so don’t be afraid to shade them in.
Refer to your light source (mine is top right) – Shade the eyeball lightest where it faces the light and darkest where it faces the light.
For very smooth shading, try to keep the pencil strokes close together to eliminate gaps.
Step 11: Shade the rest of the skin
Let’s paint the rest of the skin, then we’ll move on to the eyelashes.
Starting at the crease of the eyelid, I will lighten as I move away from it (as the skin curves and turns towards the light).
Tip: If your outline is still visible after shading around your eyes, try lightening them or darkening your shadows until the outline disappears.
To shade the brow area, I’ll go back to the top right light source and figure out which areas of the skin are directly facing the light and which are facing it.
I color the right part of the eyebrow lighter than the left because it faces the light directly.
You can shade the brow area, but you want to set any brow shape you like.
Step 12: Shade the rest of the skin
Let’s paint the rest of the skin, then we’ll move on to the eyelashes. Starting at the crease of the eyelid, I will lighten as I move away from it (as the skin curves and turns towards the light).
Tip: If your outline is still visible after shading around your eyes, try lightening them or darkening your shadows until the outline disappears.
To shade the brow area, I’ll go back to the top right light source and figure out which areas of the skin are directly facing the light and which are facing it.
I color the right part of the eyebrow lighter than the left because it faces the light directly. You can shade the brow area, but you want to set any brow shape you like.
Step 13: Draw the eyelashes
Alright, time to hook up. But before painting hair, I suggest you mix your shadow mode now because it will be quite difficult to mix all the individual lashes.
To draw eyelashes, we first need to sharpen the pencil. I work with a mechanical pencil, so it’s pretty sharp already. Practice drawing your eyelashes until your strokes become fairly consistent. Your eyelashes may curl more or less. Just make sure the ends of the lashes are tapered.
You can use strobe motion to achieve this effect. If you have trouble drawing smooth curves, rotating your sketchbook can help. Let’s start with the upper eyelid, creating eyelashes that grow from the lower edge.
Tip: Avoid drawing too many eyelashes parallel to each other. If you gather them together, you can create lashes that look more natural and less structured: There are several things you can do to make your lashes more unique and random. Like changing the length, distance or number of curves.
Keep doing this until you reach the corner of your eye. Eyelashes near the corner of the eye are usually shorter, thinner and therefore appear lighter. Don’t forget to add a few lashes along the other (far) side of the eyelid. Moving on to the bottom cap, dust the lashes along the ridge we created earlier (put them in a random zig-zag pattern).
I like to draw these lashes much shorter and wider than the top lashes. You can paint lighter than mine if you want a more subtle look.
Again, avoid obvious stereotypes. You can draw the eyelashes yourself, join them at the ends or cross them. You can also change the spacing, length and thickness of your hair. Don’t forget to pull the lashes along the other (far) side of the eyelid 🙂
Step 14: Draw the eyebrows
Once you’re satisfied, it’s time to work on the brows. The hair growth pattern seems confusing, but let’s analyze it. We can draw a line across the eyebrow to separate it into two areas. I drew a line from the top right to the leftmost. This line is different for everyone because there are so many different eyebrow styles. In zone 1 (lower part), we will pull the hairs upwards, then when we do the left side, they will point more towards the tail of the eyebrows. In zone 2 (upper part), the hairs are mainly directed towards the tail of the eyebrow. When the hairs of the two areas meet, I prefer to glue them together instead of crossing them, but you can do whatever you want. Draw a line through the eyebrows to separate the 2 areas. Alright, let’s draw a blurry line for our eyebrows to separate the 2 areas using short, disconnected pencil strokes because we don’t want the line to come out at the end. Then, with light strokes, roughly draw the hairs in area 1 while staying within the boundary.
Step 15: Wet your eyes
To prevent the eyes from getting wet, we can add water along the bottom of the eyeball. Take your solid or pointed eraser, flatten it and erase a thin space along the eyeball where it meets the lower eyelid. If the water flow does not show up well, shade around it a little. The (increased) contrast will highlight it. Or you can use a white gel pen or correction fluid to introduce some bright white value.
Step 16: Mix your eye designs
If you’ve been blending your drawing throughout the tutorial or aren’t interested in blending, feel free to skip the section on how to make the drawing stand out. Make sure your shadow is as smooth as possible.
Ok, before blending we need to make sure our shadows are as smooth as possible, this means there are no gaps between our strokes and all speckle areas are minimized to the best possible level .
Before and after blending with a paper towel and strain blending. Blend one part of your eye at a time, using a clean blending stub, tissue paper, a pointed tip, or a fine-bristle brush (depending on your preference). I like to blend the highlights with the shadows to avoid unwanted spots. In large areas of the drawing, I wrapped the fabric around my finger and gently stroked it from the lightest to the darkest areas. Blend as much as possible until the drawing becomes nice and smooth.
Be very careful when blending details around a job like eyelashes and eyebrows, being careful not to blur/smudge them. A blending tool with a pointed tip like a blending stump will work well for getting into tight spaces, blending exactly where you want it. But you can also use a folded tissue: carefully blend around the lashes with a pointed-tip blending tool (I used a folded tissue). As you blend, follow the direction of each lash, being careful not to smudge them. If you’re using paper towels and need to get into a tight spot, fold your fabric using fewer layers, pull it tight, or you can blur the area with a pencil. sharp, essentially filling in white spots or grooves on the surface of the paper. When the handkerchief gets too dirty, fold it using a clean place or just rotate it to a cleaner place.
Tip: You can remove excess graphite with a lightly kneaded gouache eraser (find out how to make this eraser here). Here is how I removed the speckled areas to make the drawing smoother. Areas that don’t have enough graphite can be filled in with the dirty blend tool (which also blends the drawing at the same time).
Ok, note! So we covered that earlier, but if you still have a visible border around the cornea and you can’t remove it because it looks weird without the border, you can make it blend in by shading the skin just outside just enough to make the outline disappear. Now the edge of the cornea is no longer visible because it has merged with the background.
Step 17: Bring out the designs
If your drawing doesn’t stand out enough, try cleaning up the shiniest parts of each highlight or use a white gel pen/correction fluid to make the highlights crisp white.
You can also shade the darker areas of your drawing even more. Or you can add more detail to the iris to make it stand out more, like in the example I showed earlier (in the section called “More detailed version of the iris”).
I also tracked and blended more to make the drawing smoother.
Step 18: Additional Tips
If you want to draw small wrinkles in the skin like I did here along the upper eyelid, squeeze your kneaded eraser flat then press gently along the eyelid, removing a very small amount of charcoal. conduct. Step 1
Draw a circle Using an HB pencil, let’s start by drawing a circle. This circle represents the eyeball.
Step 2
Choose an angle How angled do you want the eye to be? Draw a line through the circle at the angle you prefer. Feel free to deviate from the examples above. Note: the left side of each circle is the inner side of the eye. This method is great if you’re drawing a pair of eyes on the same face.
Step 3
Draw the inner corner of the eye Time to draw the inner corner of the eye. You can use multiple shapes. Angular, pointed or rounded like the examples above and in the bonus section. For small or shallow corners, stay very close to the circle. For deep and wide corners, place it well outside the circle.
Step 4
Draw the upper eyelid Draw the upper eyelid while staying within the bounds of the circle. Imagine that the eyelid wraps around a sphere. The last example shows the right side of the eyelid wrapping around the eyeball with a large, steep curve. For almond-shaped eyes, you’ll want to stick with a slim football-shaped curve and the deepest part of the arc should be in the middle of the eyelid.
Step 5
Draw the lower eyelid Now draw the lower eyelid. Be sure to draw a slight bump near the inner corner of the eye and avoid pulling the eyelid too far from the line you created in step 2. For almond eyes, the arc of the upper and lower eyelids is very closely aligned vertically.
Step 6
Add a crease Draw the crease above the eye starting from the inner corner and working outward. The thicker the space between this line and the eye, the thicker the crease will be. You can freely imitate the curve of the top cover. This crease should not exceed the line you created in step 2, unless you draw wrinkles. For the hooded eye, you’ll want to bring the crease as close to the upper eyelid as possible. You can even overlap them or cut off part of the top cover. When drawing the crease, keep your lines fairly light. A dark crease will look really deep.
Step 7
Erase outlines Carefully erase your outlines. I used a hard tombow eraser to save time.
Step 8
Add some detail At the inner corner of the eye, draw a curve or two to separate the eyeball from the soft pink wattle. For iris sizing, a good rule of thumb is that the iris takes up about 2/4 of the eyeball (horizontally). Examples below: If you want to draw a perfectly shaped iris, draw a full circle, then erase the parts of the circle that stick out from the eyeball. This step should be done very lightly. Once you have the position and size you want, darken the outline of the iris.
Step 9
Shade your eye To shade and add more detail.

Step 1
Determine the size of the eyes Determine the size you want for an eye and use 2 ticks to mark the limits of this eye. Use a ruler to draw a horizontal line through the ticks and down the right side of the page. Then measure the first space and multiply it by 3. You should now end up with 3 equal spaces running horizontally across your sketchbook.
Step 2
Draw circles Draw a circle for each eye. Make sure each circle fits within the boundaries.
Step 3
Determine the angle of each eye Determine the slant angle of the eyes and draw a line through each circle, making sure the angles are similar. Watch the video to learn how.
Step 4
Draw the shapes of the eyes Draw the inner and outer corners of each eye at the intersection of the oblique line and the circle. The inner corner of each eye should be deeper and darker than the outer corner or tail of the eye. When drawing the tail crease, let your lines become lighter instead of having a hard edge. Finally, draw a set of curves to form the eyelids.
Step 5
Draw the shape of each eyebrow Use my eye shadow technique to draw a set of eyebrows. I like to draw the eyebrows just above the circles and slightly wider than each eye. In the video I show you a technique for matching the eyebrows as well as where to draw the arch. We will detail the eyebrows later. Let’s take the next step!
Step 6
Shading Before shading, make sure the guidelines you drew in steps 1-3 are only slightly visible. You can use your kneaded eraser to roll a layer of graphite over these areas. Let’s start by shading the upper eyelids. Use the side of your pencil to shade an almond-like shape. The circle around each eye can help you see if your shading on the right eye is similar to the left eye. If you want to draw details like dark circles under the eyes, you can use the circles as a guide. Watch the video for an example. Add some light shading for the bridge of the nose. When you’re done, erase what’s left of each circle.
Step 7
Shade the rest of the face Shade the rest of the face. You can use these two tutorials to learn more about shading: How to Shade and Pencil Shading Techniques How to Shade a Face: The Ultimate Tutorial.
Step 8
Draw the eyebrows Here I switched to my 4B 0.5mm lead. Starting at the bottom of each eyebrow, draw upward strokes. Be sure to lift your pencil at the end of each stroke to make the hairs look more realistic. For a super detailed tutorial on this, check out this tutorial. At the top of each eyebrow, draw downward strokes. Add a few hairs down the middle if they still look bare. This step is very subtle, but also very important. Use an HB pencil to shade directly under each brow. Make sure the transition is gradual. Now brows look like they belong, instead of just glued to the skin.
Step 9
Adding Lines to Eyelids This step is optional… but it’s super fun, so why not do it too? This one is more of a crease than a wrinkle. When the eyes open, a crease forms on the eyelid. Use an H pencil and the lightest pressure to draw two creases. The darker you draw them, the deeper they will appear. Draw a row of curved diagonal lines along the edge of each eyelid. This area of the skin is very thin and wrinkles when the skin is pulled. You will also want to use an H pencil for this. Depending on where the light is coming from in your drawing, blend the opposite side of each drawn diagonal line. For example: in this design, the light comes from the top, so the side of each wrinkle that faces the light will be left alone, while the side opposite the light will need to be blended. Unless you’re drawing this on a large scale, avoid using a blending stump as the tip won’t be fine enough for this job. Instead, use an H and HB pencil to create a nice gradient along each wrinkle. Using a kneaded eraser, go over the areas of each wrinkle that face the light and gently dab with the pinched end of your kneaded eraser to lift a thin line of graphite. Highlights should appear brighter and wrinkles should become more apparent and shapely.
Step 10
Draw the eyelashes To begin, draw 3 eyelashes for each eye. One on the far left, far right, and another in the middle. The eyelashes should unfurl away from each other. If you want to be really careful, lightly line the lashes with an H or HB pencil to start. Once you are okay with the placement, curvature and length etc, go over it with a darker pencil like a 4B. Here I used a 0.5mm 4B lead. Take your time to fill in the spaces in between. It is normal for some eyelashes to touch each other. It’s actually more natural when they form triangles or even intersect. Finally, use an HB or 2B pencil to smudge directly under the upper eyelid to create a light cast shadow from the lashes. Step 1
Okay, are you ready or not? Start with four circles, one for the head, one for the chest, one for the butt, and one for the tail. Draw guide lines on the face and then connect the shapes with the neck and leg lines.
Step 2
Draw the ears and then use the facial guides to draw the eye shape and then the muzzle shape.
Step 3
As you can see, you will start out sketching Akita’s face like eyebrows, nose, mouth and tongue. Once you’re done, you’ll start outlining the bouncy hairlines and then start sketching the back of the head and neck.
Step 4
Now you will outline the chest and then add the fur details. Draw the lining for the front legs and the bottom of the chest.
Step 5
Finish shaping the legs and then the feet. Draw Akita’s belly and then its hind legs. Outline the detail of the dog’s body hair as you see here and then move on to the next step.
Step 6
You’ve come to step four and as you can see, you’ve come a long way. I want you to sketch the curls of the puffy tail and then continue drawing the hind legs and all the paws. Sketch the hair marks on his body and then move on to the next step.
Step 7
This is your final drawing step and all you have to do now is outline the tail and the rest of the hind legs. Erase all the principles and shapes that you drew in step one and see how your line art looks.

Step 1
So let’s start the tutorial on how to draw anime boy eyes. The most important task in this step is to determine the shape and position of the eyes on the piece of paper. To do this, draw three intersecting lines. The distance between the horizontal lines will help determine the height of the eyes. The position of the sketch determines the position of the eyes on the sheet. Try drawing these lines without the help of precision drawing aids.
Step 2

Step 1
Draw an irregular circle to outline the shape of the dog’s head.
Emphasize both sides of its face when drawing the head to form chubby cheeks. This will definitely make your dog look more adorable!
Make sure that the outline of your dog’s face is drawn in the upper part of the paper. This ensures that there will be enough space at the bottom for its body.
Step 2
Draw the outline of the dog’s body just below its head. As you can see in the illustration, its body is positioned to the side because the dog is looking towards its left side.
You can choose to follow the figure in the illustration exactly or position the dog any way you like!
Step 3
Draw a long and narrow rectangle across the dog’s neck to create the collar. Don’t forget to embellish the collar with a dangling bauble at the bottom!
Feel free to style and design the collar any way you want! You can add textures on the collar itself or customize the ornament that hangs down from the collar.
Step 4
Draw the dog’s front paw with a paw just below its chest. Don’t forget to add three toes on each foot!

Remember, the texture of a dog’s ears largely depends on the breed and the emotions they’re feeling.
Step 8
On the bottom part of the face, draw an upside down triangle to outline the dog’s nose.
Then, draw two curved lines upwards connecting to create the lip line. Now, to structure the mouth, draw a V-shaped curve just below the lips. Don’t forget to add a curve inside the mouth to create the tongue!
Step 9
Complete your drawing by perfecting your dog’s facial features.
Draw two vertical ovals above its nose to outline the eyes. Then draw two small circles inside the eyes. Shade the entire eye except for the small circles.
These two little circles with no ghosting will act as the “glitters” in your dog’s eyes, adding a more dramatic effect to his facial expressions.
Now comes the most fun part — choose and color your dog drawing!
The dog’s coat has 4 basic colors: black, white, brown and red. However, these primary colors exist in a variety of shades, so so does the dog’s coat color.

Step 1
Draw an irregular circle shape to outline the shape of the dog’s head.

— Outline the Dog’s Head and Body

You can opt to follow the drawing in the illustration exactly how it is or position the dog any way you like!
Step 3
— Put a Collar on the Dog’s Neck
Draw a long, narrow rectangular shape across the dog’s neck to create a collar. Don’t forget to adorn the collar with a jewelry dangling at the bottom!
Feel free to style and design the collar any way you want! You can add patterns on the collar itself, or customize the ornament hanging down from the collar.
Step 4
— Draw the Dog’s Front Legs
Draw the dog’s front legs with a paw right below its chest. Don’t forget to add three toes on each paw!
You can create the paws by simply drawing separate curved lines to form the toes.
Step 5
— Next, Draw the Dog’s Hind Legs
Now that we have successfully drawn the dog’s front legs, it’s time to draw the ones at the back to complete its set of legs.
Create a bent hind leg by drawing a curved facing towards the bottom part of the dog’s back. Afterwards, draw a paw with three toes right underneath the leg.
Since the dog is facing sideways, only one hind leg should be visible, as shown in the illustration.
Step 6
— Afterwards, Draw the Dog’s Tail
Form the tail of your dog by drawing a curved, narrow line with a tapered end. Draw the outline of the tail upward to make your dog seem happy and excited.
In the illustration, we drew a pointed tail, but you can definitely draw a furry tail or any shape or form of tail you prefer.
Step 7
— Then, Draw a Pair of Dog Ears
Continue by drawing an ear on each side of the dog’s face. We think droopy or folded huge ears would look best, as shown in the illustration.
However, don’t hesitate to draw the ears however you want, whether it’s standing upright or cropped.
Remember, the structure of the dog’s ears greatly depends on its breed and the emotion it is feeling.
Step 8
— Now, Draw the Nose and the Mouth
On the bottom portion of the face, draw an upside down triangle shape to outline the dog’s nose.
Then, draw two connected upward curved lines to create the lips. Now, to structure the mouth, draw a curved V-shaped line right underneath the lips. Don’t forget to add a curved line inside the mouth to create the tongue!
Step 9
— Draw the Eyes to Complete the Drawing
Finish your drawing by completing your dog’s facial features.
Draw two upright oval shapes above its nose to outline the eyes. Then, draw two tiny circles inside the eyes. Shade the entire eyes except the tiny circles.
These two unshaded small circles will serve as the “glimmer” in your dog’s eyes, adding a more dramatic effect to its facial expression.
Now, it’s time for the most exciting part—choosing the colors and coloring your dog drawing!
The coat of a dog comes in four primary colors: black, white, brown, and red. However, these primary colors exist in various shades, thus so can the color of a dog’s coat.
This gives you a wide range of color options to choose from when coloring your dog drawing.

Start by creating two shapes, one for the head and one for the body. Then you will add facial guides.

Using the first circle, you can start outlining the shape of the head, as well as the long hair for the cheeks. Draw wide triangular ears, as well as a bun on top of this kitten’s head.

Step 1
As a base for the body, we will draw a circle for the head and a pea-like shape for the body.
Step 2
The cross will help us know where our eyes and nose are. Draw a “C” curve at the bottom of the circle to make the dog look a bit more chubby.
Step 3
To make our ears add two curved rectangles and for our legs we will add two long tubes.
Step 4
Draw two ovals for the legs.
Step 5
It’s time to work on some details. Add two oval halves to the small part of the ear. The other half of the oval will act as the hind foot.
Step 6
A curved triangle will make the tail. The two halves of the circle will make the forefeet.
Step 7
Remember that cross we have drawn a few steps back? Use this cross to guide you, drawing your puppy’s face. Add details to the ears to make them look curvy. To close the hind legs, you can add a small line.

Delete all diagonal lines.

Add all the details to make your puppy unique!
