Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

Start by drawing a small, perfect circle in the middle of the top of your paper. This outlines the kangaroo’s head.
Remember, use light strokes when drawing the outline. Avoid pressing down too hard with the pencil so you can easily remove any parts of the outline that you may not need later.
To make sure the outline is drawn in the right place, you can create reference lines by drawing an intersecting horizontal and vertical line on the paper.
The outline of the kangaroo’s head should be aligned with the vertical line above the horizontal line.

Step 2

Draw an irregular oval just below the head. The shape should be narrow at the top, wider and curved at the bottom.
Similar to the outline of the head, make sure that the outline of the body can be easily erased whenever necessary.

Step 3

Draw a curved, U-shaped line to the left of the kangaroo’s head. Then, draw a curved line at the bottom. This forms the kangaroo’s snout.
Don’t forget to erase any part of the outline that overlaps the muzzle. This helps your drawing be more refined and, most importantly, neat and tidy.

Step 4

Draw two curved, upside-down U-shaped lines on each side on the top of the kangaroo’s head. Try to make the ears an even shape and size. Then, erase the overlapping line inside the right ear.
Make sure the ears are high and erect – it’s one of the kangaroo’s distinguishing features!

Step 5

Did you know that kangaroos can jump up to 10 feet high? It’s all thanks to the muscular legs and wide feet, which are also one of the unique characteristics of the kangaroo. In this step, that’s exactly what we’re going to draw.
Continue by drawing a curved line to the right of the kangaroo’s lower body to form the legs.
Then, extend the line to the left until you form a U-shaped curve to the side to form the foot. Then, bring the line upward, perfecting the shape of the right leg and foot.
Repeat the same steps on the opposite side of the kangaroo’s lower body. This forms the left leg, thus completing both legs of the kangaroo.

Step 6

Draw a narrow curved shape with a pointed tip on the kangaroo’s lower back. This creates the kangaroo’s distinctive pointed tail.
Be sure to draw the tail at an angle to make it appear to be sticking up slightly, as shown in the illustration.

Step 7

Draw a folded arm with three paws on each side of the kangaroo’s chest. The arms can be created by drawing two parallel angled lines while the feet are simply three U-shaped curved lines joined together.
Due to the kangaroo’s tilted posture, its left arm is not fully visible, unlike the right arm.

Step 8

In this step, we will add details and patterns all over the kangaroo’s body. This helps make your drawing look more complex.
Starting from top to bottom, draw a curved line around the edge of the kangaroo’s snout.
Then, draw a vertical line along the length of its body and a horizontal line to outline its pouch. Don’t forget to add more lines on each foot to create division between each foot!

Step 9

Draw two ovals standing on the kangaroo’s face. This outlines the kangaroo’s eyes.
Because kangaroos face to the side, the left eye should be relatively smaller than the right eye. Then add a small circle above each eye. Then, shade the entire eye while leaving the small inner circle unshadowed.
Don’t forget to add an outline inside the kangaroo’s ears as well as a line at the bottom of the tail to outline the underside. This adds more detail to the kangaroo, making it look more realistic.
Now that we have successfully drawn a kangaroo, it’s time for the most fun part. In this step, we will choose the color and color the kangaroo.
