Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below
You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below
Step 1
For this step of the how to draw a soldier tutorial, we will start with the soldier’s head and shoulders.
For the first part, he will wear a helmet with night vision goggles on the top. You can then use some lines below the face for the scarf the soldier is wearing.
Finally, you can draw the soldier’s shoulders and arms with some curves. Once satisfied with the look and feel you are ready for step 2!
Step 2
We will be adding chests and some equipment in this step of your soldier drawing. You can use some going down between the shoulders.
You can then add some gear such as bags and other elements of his uniform in this step.
A rectangle in the center of his chest will act as some armor for him and you can also add other smaller details you see in the reference image.
Step 3
Now you can draw his left arm with his rifle
Now that you have the soldier’s head and chest complete, you can add the left arm holding his assault rifle.
You can use some of the ridges from his shoulders to make his arms and hands. You can then add some padding to his elbow area as shown in the reference image.
Finally, the rifle will be drawn with some straight lines going down from his hand, and will also have some smaller details on it.
Before continuing, you can also pull out his belt for a uniform lapel underneath.
Step 4
Next, draw the soldier’s face and legs
For this part of your soldier drawing, we will add the soldier’s face and first leg. The face will be drawn with some pretty simple lines for the eyes and nose.
You can change these details a bit if you want to create a new facial expression for him. Finally, you can draw his leg on the left side.
This leg will be drawn with some bumpy lines to represent the fabric of his uniform. You can finish off this leg with some extra kneading and warming up.
Step 5
Now you can add the other legs and arms
Before you move on to the final step of this soldier drawing tutorial, we will first draw the final details and elements.
First, you can draw the right leg that looks similar to the one you drew in the previous step.
Finally, you can complete this step by adding his gloved hand to his right arm. That should work for all the steps of this tutorial, but before you continue, you can also add any additional details or elements you might want!
You can draw the background to show the type of terrain this soldier is navigating, or you can draw something like a tank behind him.
Another idea you can apply is to draw a camouflage shape or add some extra details to his uniform.
Step 6
Complete your soldier drawing with some colors
Now that you have reached the final step of your soldier painting, you can now really bring it to life using your own amazing colors! In our reference image, we used some green, gray and black to color the soldier.
