Step 1

Start by drawing the superhero’s face. Use curved lines to outline the swept hair and chin. Then use curved lines to outline the eyes, nose, and lips.

Draw bold lines above the eyes to represent the eyebrows and fill in a small circle in each eye to represent the pupils.

Step 2

Use curved lines to draw the hair. Notice how the curls created using pairs of curves meet at points and how the lines overlap to give the image depth.

Step 3

Outline the shoulders and top of Captain Marvel’s uniform. Close the winding rectangles to form the collar, with a short line to create the crease.

Between the sections of the collar, attach an 8-pointed star. Use short straight lines that meet at points. Then use overlapping curves for the shoulders and the top of the sleeves.

Step 4

Use overlapping curved lines to draw muscular upper arms, lower arms, and clenched hands. Draw a short line on each knuckle.

Clothing detail with “L” shaped lines around the collar and straight lines between the points of the star.

Step 5

Use a pair of curved lines to outline the arms extended and upward, noting the curvature of the elbows. Outline the hand and fingers using curved lines.

Then, outline one side of the torso in a long, curved line. Use pairs of curves and straight lines – some branching – to sketch a glove on one wrist.

Draw a long, curved line on the opposite side of the body, outlining the abdomen and the front of the legs. Then the uniform detail. Use pairs of curves to draw a glove on the other wrist.

Draw a pair of curved lines across the waist to form the waist. Enclose the irregular geometric shapes of the holster above and below it.

Then extend the pairs of curves upward from the waist and join each pair at the end. Draw curved lines on the chest.

Step 7

Use long, curved lines to outline the second leg’s legs and feet, as well as the first leg’s thighs. Add details to the utility belt and its contents. Use pairs of lines and geometric shapes.

Step 8

Use two curved lines to complete the other leg, . Note that your legs can be drawn together to form a stable pillar.

Draw a series of lines on each leg to represent the upper part of the boot. Then draw pairs of seams at each end to further embellish the ensemble.

Step 9

Draw pairs of curved lines on the shins and a slipper-like outline on the top of the foot.

Then draw flames engulfing each of Captain Marvel’s hands. Use a series of curves that meet at sharp points.
