Step 1

Draw eyes, nose, mouth and eyebrows. The eyes are just a narrow slit for the pupil. Keep all the features close together to get that nasty, nasty look for your ultimate Krampus.

Step 2

Add in Krampus’ pointed ears, shaggy beard and high cheekbones. Make the beard pointy and use the line of the lower lip as an anchor point where the beard will start.

Step 3

Add curling horns and coarse hair. Dot as many points as you like on the frizzy hair, but leave the horns on for the time being. We will add more details later!

Step 4

Draw Krampus’ arms, shoulders, and hands. Take your time on your hands, as they can be quite tricky, and use the Krampus crate’s straps to locate his chest.

Step 5

Using those backpack-looking straps, draw the rest of Krampus’ hairy lower body, leaving the rough, shaggy end around where his knees should be. We will add the pins in the next step.

Step 6

Krampus have the legs and hooves of a goat, so exaggerate their angle of bend far beyond what you can see in a human. Be sure to lock in the signature split hooves!

Step 7

In this drawing, Krampus’ sack looks more like a barrel. Keep the lines straight to give some perspective and warp the bands that outline the top and bottom.

Step 8

It wouldn’t be Krampus without a bunch of sticks to hit naughty kids. All sticks must be held together, but you are free to make them look as gnarly as you want. And draw a chain link between the two hands.

Step 9

Add details along Krampus’ horns, feathers and whiskers. Just a few lines here will really deepen the look of the finished cartoon and make it look more realistic raw!

Step 10

Glide through your finished Krampus! If there are any edits or adjustments you want to make, do it now! If not, color your Christmas demon
