How to Draw Raphael step by step

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

Start by drawing a curved line to form one side of Raphael’s face, cheeks, and chin.

Step 2

Continue the curve to form the other side of the face, completely enclosing the head.

Step 3

Draw a pair of curved lines on the top of the face to form the mask. Notice that the lumps on the top and bottom of the mask extend in opposite directions. Use curved lines to enclose irregular shapes on the side of the mask, indicating where to tie the mask.

Step 4

Extend a pair of curved lines below the head, forming the torso.

Step 5

Between the ends of the previously drawn lines, draw a circle within a circle. Write an “R” inside it, forming Raphael’s belt buckle. Draw the belt using a pair of curved lines between the buckle and the sides of the body. Attach two squares below the buckle, showing the ends of the tied belt.

Step 6

Extend a pair of curved lines below the waist. Connect them by drawing two curved shapes, forming the vertices of the legs. Then detail the body. Draw some overlapping curved shapes, then place a line in the middle. In turtle anatomy, this part is called the shell, the underside of the shell. As a humanoid, it resembles abdominal muscles.

Step 7

Use curved lines to enclose Raphael’s feet.

Step 8

Draw Raphael’s arm. Each arm consists of three curved shapes – shoulder, wristband and hand. In each draw, the weapon resembles Raphael’s dagger. First, place a triangle in the palm of your hand, with a band at the bottom. This is the tsuka, or handle. Use two “U” shaped lines to enclose the yoku or side guard prongs. Finally, use two straight lines that meet at a sharp point to form the central moto blade.

Step 9

Detail of Raphael’s face. Use curves to create his angry mouth. Draw loose “S” shaped lines inside the mask to represent his furrowed eyebrows, then place three ovals below it, one within the other, to represent the eyes .

Step 10

Color Raphael. He wears a red mask. Blue person and yellow belly.
