The only country song to make the list is a track used for – you guessed it – a viral dance. But not the same as the other viral dance, this dance is mainly used as a parody.
This song is one of my favorite examples of the power of music and lyrics. Each verse tells a story and the chorus reflects Jenny’s feelings in some way. What’s even more interesting is that each chorus has (almost) identical lyrics but each has such a different meaning because of the previous verse and Carrie’s thoughts. The first chorus shows us Jenny worrying about getting married, the second chorus shows us Jenny embarrassed and scared to be hit, telling herself she’ll be okay. By the last chorus, it’s a scar. Every time Jenny hears the church bells, she remembers her pain and tells herself that she will be okay not only after such debilitating abuse, but that she will be fine without it. he. The song is really powerful.
