STEP 1
Mark the width and height of the image. Draw an oval that will serve as the basic shape for Alvin the chipmunk’s head, and draw a line that will serve as the center of the oval. Expand it to represent the height of the animal’s body. With a smooth line, outline the shape of its belly.
STEP 2
Draw the shape of the chipmunk’s head and basic body proportions.
STEP 3
Draw guides for the chipmunk’s arms. Add further lines to mark the pocket, feet, and proportions of the head.
STEP 4
Outline the shapes of the sleeves and cap.
STEP 5
Draw the shapes of Alvin’s Chipmunk’s sweater and top.
STEP 6
Sketch the general shapes of the animal’s feet and pads, nose, and eyes.
STEP 7
Work over entire shapes and forms, adding details.
STEP 8
Outline, try to change the thickness and blackness of the line. Added some additional details and ground around Alvin’s Chipmunk. Delete all instructions.
STEP 9
The final step is to color the character.
