Since the release of his major debut, Cilvia Demo 2014, Isaiah Rashad has been intensely focused on communicating his life lessons in the most relaxed, comfortable way possible. That includes his slips and struggles, and his self-described attempt at death and dying. The chorus of “Headshots (4r Da Locals)” features a vulnerable mutilation of Rashad alongside an uncredited female singer, while another unnamed character laments behind; The vocals blend in a way that sends Rashad languidly through the rest of the song, all the while returning to this house of internal strife. Overall, it feels like Isaiah Rashad is sharing his pertinent messages about maturity and determination, while acknowledging he’s only human.
