How to Draw a Briefcase step by step

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

    Step 1

Sketch the main body of the briefcase
Start by drawing the main part of the briefcase as a rectangle as shown in the example above. Give it rounded corners at all ends but make the corners at the bottom larger/rounder (larger corner radius).

    Step 2

    Draw handle
At the top of the pair add a handle. You can make it a bit thicker in the handle area than at the edges.

    Step 3

    Draw the lid
Go down to the middle of the briefcase to draw the lid (open/closed hat). Give it rounded corners on the sides and a lock in the middle.

Draw the padlock with a slightly vertical rectangle and slightly rounded corners.

    Step 4

    Draw the smaller details
With the main parts of the briefcase finished, you can add some smaller details. They should be as follows:

Outline the grip area of the handle
Draw small parts around the handle to attach it to the briefcase
Add a keyhole to the padlock
Attach a pair of small legs to the bottom

    Step 5

    Draw Stitches & Finish Lines
To complete the drawing, you can first give the briefcase some stitches that run along the edges of its body and main flap (as shown in the example). To do this, first draw the lines that the stitches will run along with a very light pencil (just dark enough that you can barely see them).

Once finished with trace on your drawing with a black pen, marker, or darker pencil lines. Alternatively, use any of these of your choice to create small dash lines along the light pencil lines.

    Step 6

    Color the briefcase
To color the briefcase you can choose any color and method you like (paints, crayons, markers, etc.). In this case, it will be light brown to look more like leather.
The small parts holding the handle and lock will be gray to show that they are metal, and the small pins will be yellow. You can also make the keyhole dark gray or black.

How to draw realistic dragonfly with this how-to video and step-by-step drawing instructions. Easy animals to draw for beginners and kids.

How to draw realistic dragonfly step by step

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

    Step 1

    Body sketch
We can start by drawing a simple vertical line along the page with a pencil and a ruler. We want to create a simple line through the page to help us draw the dragonfly’s body symmetrically. From here we can start drawing the dragonfly’s head and body. A good suggestion is to take an image from the internet as a reference, however, that is not necessary.
The head and body or thorax can be depicted as a bean-shaped shape connected by two circles. The circles will be the eyes and the beans will be the body/chest of the dragonfly.
drawing dragonfly 03 The most important aspect to remember is keeping symmetry throughout the dragonfly’s shape and form. This means that the shape should be the same on both sides of the vertical line. We want to make sure that we draw two equal circles for the eyes and the body will look like a bean shape on either side of the vertical line.
drawing dragonfly 04 From there we can go down to the body structure of dragonfly drawing. When we create a realistic dragonfly drawing, using a reference image helps us to create the most accurate body shape possible.
In the next section, we want to draw the lower part of the chest, which can be described as an upside down cone.
draw dragonfly 05 The chest will flow into the narrow cerci of the dragonfly. The cerci resemble the long tail of a dragonfly, and its shape resembles a thin rod. This thin stick-like structure will have subtle protrusions and curves, which should be as symmetrical as possible either side of the vertical.
drawing dragonfly 06 Dragonflies can be thought of as totem pole-like structures that have a pattern on their cerci/tail structure. Again, use the reference image to see how you can draw these patterns, but you can also try making your own.
The main aspect to remember is to keep it symmetrical, which will give a realistic effect. Finally, the bottom part of the cerci has two downward facing horns.

    Step 2

    Leg sketch
We want to continue using our pencil, now we will proceed to draw the dragonfly’s legs. The first two legs will emerge from the eyes and have a delicate arched shape. Legs should be symmetrical on each side of the dragonfly.
The second pair of legs will follow suit and are shaped like the first, except they will grow out from either side of the chest.
draw dragonfly 07 The lower legs will point downward and perpendicular, growing from the bottom of the chest. These legs will be straight and not bent at the joints like the two above. Finally, all the pins can be divided into two parts, indicating that they have joints.

    Step 3

    Sketch the wings
We’ll start with the top or front wings first, which can be drawn with our pencil. The shape of the wings can be thought of as spearheads growing from the sides of the chest in a horizontal fashion.
They must be the same length as the dragonfly’s entire body.
draw realistic dragonflies 09 Lower or hind wings will match and have the same shape, however, they will grow out from below the chest a bit. Both wings will have this spike shape and point slightly upwards instead of downwards. You want the wing to curve slightly upwards.
draw realistic dragonflies 10 When drawing the pattern of veins/webs inside the wings, we don’t need to worry about symmetry. The vein pattern of the wing will grow from the inside near the chest, then they will disperse throughout the wing.
drawing realistic dragonfly 11 These lines can be quite chaotic in the way they scatter through the structure of the wings. However, we wanted to make sure there were darker lines near the chest and thinner lines near the bottom of the wings.
The top line or edge of each wing must also be thicker and darker than the bottom line or edge of each wing.
You can play around how you allow lines to scatter in each wing. Try to remember that line structures can be sporadic and inconsistent looking like branches in a tree. However, as long as the thicker lines remain near the thorax and top of the wings.
draw realistic dragonflies 13 You want to spend time with wings, this is because you don’t want the wings to look symmetrical. However, you want to make sure that they follow the shape of the wing tip shape in the horizontal direction. In addition, all ribbed structures will curve downwards on the wing.
dragonfly sketch 15 You also don’t need to add too many lines inside the wing, as this can overwhelm features and won’t look good.
Again, it’s a good idea to look at pictures of dragonflies on the internet to get an accurate sense of how the wings are formed and how the veins are dispersed throughout the wings.

    Step 4

Shading the body with a ballpoint pen
Dragonflies are predominantly black and ballpoint pens are a great way to add shade while preserving the vivid dark tonal value in this insect. Welsh may start near the eyes and upper chest; we can make the eyes mostly black with a bit of white for brightness.
dragonfly sketch 16 As we move over the chest we can color around the patterns inside the body where we can make some areas in the chest darker and others a little lighter . We wanted to make sure we left the patterns on the chest free from shadows, though we could add small dots to suggest texture. For the legs, you can color with a ballpoint pen, but try to leave white spots here and there.
This will give the legs a more three-dimensional quality as it will suggest gloss on the smooth exoskeleton. Around the chest, you can add small lines to give the dragonfly feather quality.
dragonfly sketch 18 As we move down the full body structure, we can make it predominantly black with our ballpoint pen. That being said, we want to make sure that when we go over the chest and the cerci we don’t touch the samples.
dragonfly sketch 19 Dragonflies are mostly black, so you can simply paint the entire body/tail structure black. You want to make sure your color is around the patterns, leaving them white so that they contrast with the dragonfly’s black body.
dragonfly sketch 21 Again, think of a dragonfly’s cerci or tail as a totem figurine. You want to make sure that all the patterns are symmetrical and not touched with the ballpoint pen. You can add small dots.

    Step 5

Fill in the wings with a ballpoint pen
With the wings, the process is a bit simpler since we drew all the lines with a pencil. However, this time it will be simply going through all the lines with our pen. We want to darken and thicken the lines near the chest and along the top of the wings.
dragonfly illustration 23 We only want the lines near the chest to be thicker because this shows that the skeletal structure or veins are firmly and firmly attached to the chest. As they disperse through the wings, their structure becomes thin and faint.
The lines don’t need to be thick over the entire wing, just near the top and near the chest.
Near the tip of the wing, at the end of the spike, we can draw a dark mass called a pterostigma. These are the iconic features inside the dragonfly’s wings and are located at the top of all four wings, near the edge of each wing.
dragonfly illustration 25 You just want to spend some time reviewing the lines you drew with a pencil. Try to take your time and be careful, you don’t want any unwanted marks drawn with the pen. The wings should have a matte and subtle quality, which means the lines will be mostly light all over the wings. With your pen, you can also add in small diagonal lines, hinting at a mesh quality inside the wing. Dragonfly wings have a mesh structure; however, it is very faint in the wings.

    Step 6

    Add some color
Now we can add some color to the dragonfly drawing with simple colored pencils. We can do this by choosing two colors, because dragonflies are never too colorful but have a set of two colors inside their bodies.

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

    Step 1

Start by drawing a small oval to form the center of the flower.

    Step 2

Extend a curved, wavy line from the center of the flower. Bend the line around, bend it to form a point between the jagged waves, then rejoin the line to the opposite side of the oval. This forms the first petal. Then extend another wavy line from the center, bending it to meet the edge of the first petal. This surrounds the second petal of the flower. Finally, repeat this process on the opposite side of the first petal, forming the third.

    Step 3

Extend curved, wavy lines from the center of the flower to enclose at least two more petals, filling in the space on the back of the flower.

    Step 4

Erase parts of the oval so that the petals “flow” into the center of the flower. Adjust the lines as needed to ensure that each petal is in contact with the center.

    Step 5

Will always be parallel to each other. This forms the stem of the flower.

    Step 6

Extend a pair of parallel lines, evenly spaced upwards from the center of the flower, to form the style. Delete as needed. At the end of the style, allow the lines to diverge. Draw a small “V” shaped line between them and connect the lines at the end using small circles. Extend the small, elongated oval from the style. This forms the stigma, along with the style, known as the pistil.

    Step 7

Draw the leaves. For each leaf, attach a spike using a series of short lines that meet at jagged points. Draw a curved line down the center of the leaf to indicate the central vein and shorter lines extending outward from the vein.

    Step 8

nothing later: Draw another pointed leaf again to outline it with a series of short, curved lines. Draw a vein in the center of the leaf and additional veins that diverge from the first vein.

    Step 9

Draw the final leaf, using the same process as described previously. Finally, detail the petals by extending the curved lines outward from the center of the flower.

    Step 10

Color your hibiscus flowers. These tropical flowers come in a variety of colors, such as red, pink, white, orange, and yellow.

How to draw orchid flowers in a jar step by step

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

    Step 1

Start with the first flower bud by drawing two curved lines. The lines should cross each other, descending towards each other. This starts the flower’s petals.

    Step 2

Continue drawing the petals. For each one, extend a curved line outward, then duplicate it towards the center of the flower. Repeat on each side to form a mirror image.

    Step 3

Orchids have three extra petals, called sepals. Draw the first one with a curved line to enclose the space between and above the existing petals. Then draw two sepals below, using a curved line for each.

    Step 4

Next, you’ll draw the column, or center, of the flower. First, draw a circle, leaving a hole in the bottom. Curve the lines down around this hole. Below this, enclose an irregular shape, again exposing the bottom and extending a set of parallel lines from it. Remove guide lines as necessary.

    Step 5

Next, you’ll draw the orchid’s label or lips. Enclose an irregular curved shape, almost triangular, around the bottom of the column. This will fill in the space between the petals, completely enclosing the flower.

    Step 6

Next, you will draw the flower stalk. From each side of the column, enclose a curved, irregular shape. Repeat to form a mirror image on each side.

    Step 7

Add details to your flower. Texture the petals and sepals with curves. Draw lines along the length of each throat section and draw dots in the lower part of the column, called the stigma surface. We have completed the first flower bud.

    Step 8

Next we draw two parallel lines to form the stem of the flower. and continue with the next flowers similar to the instructions above.

    Step 9

Extend two curved lines from the flower downward, forming the stem.

    Step 10

From the trunk, extend a pair of evenly spaced curved lines. From these, extend three lines that meet at a sharp point. This forms the leaf with its veins.

    Step 1

Start by drawing a guide grid. This will help you set the facial features in the following steps.

Draw a vertical line, then draw a circle around it. Draw a horizontal line below the center point of the circle. It must intersect the vertical line at a right angle and meet the edges of the circle.

    Step 2

Use a long, curved line to outline the ears and lower half of the face. Connect the ear to the head where the horizontal grid line meets the circle. The chin line should touch the bottom of the vertical line.

Detail the inside of each ear with a curved line.
Use grid lines to place the mouth. It will be on the shorter horizontal line, in the middle of the vertical line.

    Step 3

Erase the bottom of the circle and the bottom horizontal line.
Then use the mesh to place the nose and eyes. They should be placed between the vertical line and the ear. The top of each eye should meet the horizontal line, with the upper eyelid curved.

Position the negative eyebrow above the eye, a short distance from the horizontal line.

Draw the nose between the horizontal line and the bottom of the face, just to the left of the vertical line.

Learn more about how to draw nose and eyes in How To Draw Nose and How to Draw Eyes Step by Step tutorials.

    Step 4

Remove grid lines from the face. Then start drawing the glass. Use thick lines for the bottom of the lens, nose pads, and ear pads. Use thin lines for the upper part of the lens, enclosing the eye.

    Step 5

Next, draw the girl’s hair. Use overlapping curves and lines that meet at sharp points. Don’t forget the curved earrings and hairpin.

    Step 6

Outline the hair on the head by drawing an extra outline outside the original circle. Use two curved lines to draw the neck and complete the hair at the back of the head with curved lines that meet at the jagged points.

    Step 7

Remove the rest of the original circle from the top of the drawing

How To Draw Jet The Hawk  with this how-to video and step-by-step drawing instructions. Cartoon drawing tutorials for beginners and everyone.

How To Draw Jet The Hawk step by step

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

    Step 1

First, as always, you’ll want to start with a tutorial. One large circle for the head, two other ovals for the hands and shaft for orientation.

    Step 2

Next step, you will need to start with the face. Start drawing the eyes and the front of the beak.

    Step 3

Now to finish the eyes and add more details as shown in the picture.

    Step 4

Apply to the eye contour, a bit like silver but with 2 parts. Complete the mouth and add goggles.

    Step 5

Now to the pupils in the eyes, the feathers on the back of the neck and the additional details for the goggles.

    Step 6

Alright. Now that the head is done, we can start with the body. For starters, his arm and the stuff around his wrist.

    Step 7

To go further, add hands and start drawing legs.

    Step 8

Cool! Now we can start finishing off his hands by adding finishing touches to the things around his wrists and adding that hair to his chest and adding tail feathers.

    Step 9

Alright. Now I show you an easy way to make patterns on his boots. First, draw an arrow like the one going down the middle.

    Step 10

Then just draw three of the other weird looking shapes across that arrow shape.

Cool!! And then you’re pretty much done! In addition to some color and background if you really want.

How to draw a color doll with this how-to video and step-by-step drawing instructions. Simple drawing for kids and beginners.

How to draw a color doll step by step

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

    Step 1.

    Face
To start your one-minute princess, draw a three-quarter oval for the face as shown in your right image. Follow up by drawing two rounded ovals for the eyes, small pointed nose, and smiling mouth. Be sure to include the “smile line” on each side of the mouth—my kids will complain if I forget to draw them!

Continue filling in the details of the face by drawing eyelids, each complete with two eyelashes. You should now have a pretty little face looking back at you.

One of the simplest hairstyles you can do is to part your long hair. To draw the parting line, simply draw three lines running down the front of the forehead, just above the eyes to represent the hair. Then draw another line perpendicular to these three lines to represent the breakup. On the other side of this line, draw another line that is a bit more rounded to show the hair on the other side of her head.

    Step 2.

For me, the hair is the most fun part of drawing a princess. In this case, our princess has long and straight hair. To create her hair, simply draw three to four lines growing out from her head and fringe.

Obviously, not every kid wants a princess with long, straight hair. Usually, they’ll want a princess in their own image, which means you might be asked to draw short curly hairdos, braids, ponytails, buns, or more.

    Step 3.

    Neck, Shoulders and Crown
Now it’s time to sketch the neck, shoulders and crown!

The neck is easy, as all you need to do is draw two lines pointing downwards, one from the ears and one from the chin.

Shoulders extend from the neck, reaching beyond the outer hairs. Along with the shoulders, you can also draw on the top part of the dress. In this case, I gave her a fur necklace with a heart pendant in the middle. I also gave her a pearl necklace to make her look even more regal!

    Step 4.

How you draw the upper body really depends on the type of body that you want to give your princess. I like small breasts and medium waist so they don’t look like Barbie dolls. (We don’t want to send the wrong message to our children!)

If you want to draw a baby princess, all you have to do is flatten the bust by drawing two lines down the waist. If you like, you can belt your princess like I did here, or you can leave it as is.

    Step 5.

    Arm
Drawing a princess’s arm can be tricky, especially in terms of the exact length. A few times I ended up with a princess that resembled Mr. Tickle in the series Mr. Men, or Stumpy! Try to bring your arms to just below the waist to look as natural as possible.

If finger painting makes you nervous, you can always draw a “glove hand” like I did with this princess. Kids don’t seem to mind either way!

    Step 6.

    Costume and final details
This is the part where you can go wild! Costumes exist in many forms, so just use your imagination. In this case, I drew a long, wide dress decorated with a favorite symbol, the heart. To make the dress look like it’s running along the ground, draw a slightly wider oval base like I did here. I have also included some wavy layers so my little ones can change the color of the dress.

The shoes can come out from underneath the dress as is the case with this princess, or you can dress her up in striking heels. I often ask my students which one they prefer.

    Step 7.

How to draw a princess crown
In recent months, I have received many requests for instructions on how to draw your already perfect princess crown! The tiara I used in the drawing of the princess is very basic, so I came up with a slightly more challenging design for you to experiment with.

Start your princess crown by drawing a slightly curved base. You want it to be curved so that you can later angle your crown. You can choose to make the base layer thick, like I did here, or thin, depending on your personal preference. The base can be red or purple to give it a velvet look.
On each side of the base, draw a line that goes up and slightly curves outward. Draw two circles on top of each line to create decorative balls that feature on multiple crowns.
Follow up by drawing three curved lines that look like waves between the two lines you just drew growing from the base. These lines will form the front of the crown. Continue by adding a decorative bubble on top of each “wave”. Remember that the three curves should be equidistant from the base curve.
The back of the crown and jewelry
This is the part where the crown gets fancy! Draw a small “mountain” between each decorative sphere in front of the crown. The three mountains you draw will represent the back of the crown. Each mountain “peak” should also have a decorative bubble attached to it as shown in the drawing. Drawing on the front and back of the crown gives it three-dimensional depth.

Finish the drawing by adding some jewels. I decided to paint three diamonds, with a large one in the center and two smaller ones on the sides. If you draw a cross in the center of your diamonds, it will make them appear three-dimensional.

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

    Step 1:

    Draw your snake’s head
Start drawing your snake by drawing a slightly curved head shape.

    Step 2:

    Draw the middle body
Draw the neckline from the underside of the head, facing downwards. This part will also be slightly curved but in the opposite direction to the head.

    Step 3:

    Added rear body and tail
Continue to flex the back body and add a sharp turn that will represent the end of the tail.

    Step 4:

Draw a belly for you Draw a snake easily
Draw individual segments that flex with your snake’s body. In your snake’s head, draw a small circle to represent the eyes.

    Step 5:

Add the first layer of color paint
Using a regular brush and brown paint, evenly cover the whole body of the snake.

    Step 6:

Add a secondary coat of paint
With the same brush you used earlier, switch to light brown paint and evenly color the belly of your snake drawing. Finish with a smooth, sharp brush and dark gray paint, and fill in the eyes.

    Step 7:

    Shading in your snake sketch
Pick a small, soft brush and paint in a light brown color, while adding a soft secondary coat between the bottom half of the neck and the top of the head. Continue this process on your snake’s body.

With a small brush and black paint, add shadows along the top area of the head, the curves at the neck, the rest of the body and the tail.

    Step 8:

    Texture your snake drawing
Start this step with a pattern brush and brown paint, and paint individual diamond pattern scales on the face and neckline of your simple snake drawing. Repeat this step with black, dark brown, and light brown paint, and paint along the rest of the body and tail.

    Step 9:

Identify the features of your snake drawing
Pick a thin, sharp brush and paint it black, then trace the outline of the diamond pattern on your snake’s skin. Once done, paint the mouth with black paint. Continue with white paint and apply soft highlights on each scale pattern. Repeat with light brown paint, and paint several spots to create variety and depth.

With a soft brush and white paint, add soft brush strokes along the curve of your snake drawing to add realistic highlights.

    Step 10:

    Belly texture
In this step you will start adding textures to create a more realistic snake drawing! To do this, you will need to choose a soft brush and paint brown and add a soft blend of colors along the belly. Repeat using black paint and add some dark spots along the scales. Pick a blend brush and smooth these newly painted areas.

    Step 11:

    Mark the abdomen
To add highlights to your snake sketch, use a smooth brush and paint white and add soft brush strokes to the bottom of your snake’s belly. For the upper part of the belly, add more intensity to the highlights. Apply a final center line marker. Complete this step by adding a soft highlight to the eye of your snake drawing.

    Step 12:

    Add background shadow
With a soft brush and black paint, add a soft shadow just below the snake. Choose a blend brush and smooth the edges of your shadow.

    Step 13:

    Perfect your simple snake drawing
Use a smooth brush and corresponding colors, and trace the entire outline and any internal texture lines for a flawless and seamless look!

Well done our tutorial on how to draw a snake! You just created your own realistic snake drawing and made it look so easy! We hope you learned some new and important drawing skills that you can take with you and apply to your other drawings!

How To Draw Tropical Palm Tree with this how-to video and step-by-step drawing instructions. Simple drawing for kids and beginners.

How To Draw Tropical Palm Tree step by step

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

    Step 1

Start by drawing two long, parallel curves. Make sure the lines are a little closer together at the top than at the bottom. These lines form the trunk of the palm tree.

    Step 2

Just above the trunk, draw five curved lines going in different directions. The lines will meet above the trunk, forming a shape that resembles a drooping pentagram. These lines are the beginnings of palm tree leaves, or leaves.

    Step 3

Start sketching some leaves. For the first leaf, draw a curved line from the center of the star shape to the tip of a curved line. Then do the same on the opposite side of the same curve. You should have a pointed circle at each end. Repeat this process to enclose another leaf.

    Step 4

Continue sketching the leaves by drawing curved lines from the base to the tips of the original lines.

    Step 5

In this step, you will draw a leaf from a different angle. On your remaining curve, enclose a shape by drawing a roughly straight line from the base to the top. Then draw a few more leaves in a slant, using a curved and an almost straight line for each. Remove guide lines as necessary.

    Step 6

Add details to the leaves. Using short lines, attach a few small triangles along the edges of each leaf.

    Step 7

Draw three small circles at the intersection of the leaves, called the canopy. These circles form the coconut, the fruit of the palm tree.

    Step 8

Erase the guide lines from the coconut and leaves. The leaves will now have a jagged shape.

    Step 9

Draw curved, horizontal lines along the trunk.

    step 10

Color your palm tree. You paint the leaves green and the stems dark brown.

How to Draw a Lion Step by Step – Easy drawing a Lion

How to Draw a Lion with this how-to video and step-by-step drawing instructions. Easy animals to draw for beginners and kids.

How to Draw a Lion Step by Step

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

    Step 1:

Create the shape of the main body
To start drawing your lion, create a large and long horizontal oval on your canvas. Our top advice for this first step of your lion drawing is to place the oval of the main body in the center of your drawing.

You also want to make sure that there is plenty of space on all sides of the main body where you will be drawing the limbs and head.

    Step 2:

    Start drawing the lion’s head
Again, we’ll use a long oval to shape your lion’s head. The oval construction of the head should be significantly smaller than the main body.

You want the head oval to be almost vertical but slightly tilted to the left.

    Step 3:

    Plan a lion’s tail
To create the basic shape of the tail in your lion sketch, draw a curved shape starting at the top of the main body oval.

    Step 4:

    Shaping the hind legs
Our lion appears to us as if lying on its side, so the legs (one front and one back) on the other side of the lion will be partially hidden. This difference of opinion is why construction lines can be so useful. Start by drawing the upper thigh of the lion’s paw closest to us. One end of the curve will start at the bottom end of the tail. Below this thigh, draw the bottom of the leg slightly forward, then add an irregular oval to represent the foot.

For the second back foot, just repeat these steps, but remember to keep the back half of one leg behind the other.

    Step 5:

Standing in front of the lion
If you look at the image below, you’ll see that the lion’s front paws have a very different shape than the hind legs. Start by drawing the leg closest to you, drawing two curved lines that extend slightly forward. Add a split line just above the bottom of the leg and then add an uneven oval to represent the leg of your lion sketch.

For the second leg, repeat this process but this leg should extend straight down and it should be partially blocked by the other front leg.

    Step 6:

Detail Drawing of a Lion’s Head
In this step, you will use four lines to create the base structure for the facial details. These lines will help you when you want to know how to draw a lion face. Start with a large vertical line that runs through the center of the lion’s head drawing and curves toward the front of the canvas. Next, draw three curved horizontal lines towards the bottom of the canvas.

The two bottom lines will help you place the right nose and mouth closer together near the bottom of the oval on top.

    Step 7:

Sketch the shape of the ear
This step is very easy and quick. All you need to do is place an incomplete oval on either side of the head oval.

    Step 8:

    Shaping the lion’s mane
The lion’s mane is very beautiful and detailed. In this step, we just need to contour the mane with a line.

Draw a mane shape around the head, which flows to the floor and covers a significant portion of the front legs and main oval of the body.

    Step 9:

Create the final sketch of your lion sketch
Now that you’ve drawn all of your construction lines, it’s time to use them to create the final contour of your lion drawing. Start by outlining the ears and use facial contours to place features. On the top horizontal line, draw eyes on either side of the vertical line. On the center horizontal line, draw the nose with the center running along the vertical construction line. On the bottom horizontal construction line, draw the mouth. Perfect the facial details using short strokes to shape the contours of the face and the lion’s chin.

As you move down the body, don’t outline the mane shape as we will do this in the next step. You also don’t want to outline anything in the mane shape, start outlining your body after it’s over.

Curl the lion’s back down and up to join the tail contour. You can outline the rest of the body by sticking pretty close to the construction lines. When you get to the foot section, use small curved lines to create the toes for your lion sketch and add a small nail to each toe.

    Step 10:

    Shaping the lion’s mane
In this step, you’ll use the mane build shape to help you create the final contour. When sketching a lion’s mane, you want to use short wavy strokes to give the impression of fur. Towards the bottom, you want to bring the mane to small, flame-like spots. You want all currents to flow in the same direction downwards. Add additional lines and coats in the wider mane shape.

Once you’ve completed this step and are happy with your mane, you can erase any construction lines that are still visible.

    Step 11:

Add texture details to your lion sketch
Now comes the fun step in our “drawing lion” tutorial. In this step, you will use a series of

short and long lines to create a fur pattern all over the lion’s body. Start by texturing the mane using long lines. You want to make sure that all your lines follow the curve of the mane. On the face, use a combination of dots and short lines to add texture around the mouth, nose, eyes, and ears. While you’re here, let’s add some contour to the face shape to give it more depth.

As you move up the body, use short strokes to contour the legs, belly, and end of the lion’s body.

    Step 12:

    Add the first color layer
To create realistic colors in your lion painting, you will need to color in different layers. To start, use light brown or light brown to color the entire body of the lion.

No matter what medium you are using, make sure that you create a smooth and even coat without any major smudges.

    Step 13:

    Dimensioning with Shading and Highlights
You will now breathe some life into your lion sketch by adding some highlights and shadows. Start by creating a shadow with a bit of black and a soft brush. Use this black to shade the lion’s frame, including the upper back, tail, belly, and between all the legs.

For all your shadows, go soft with black and try to blend it as smoothly as possible. You can always add more shadows, but you can’t remove them once enabled.

Add some shadows to the facial structure, around the nose, on the forehead, inside the ears, nostrils and in the lower lip. At the end of this step, use a little white paint to create accents throughout the body. Focus the white on the lower half of the lion’s face, just below the eyes, on the front of the hind legs and apply all over the body.

    Step 14:

    Draw details on the mane
The base color for the lion’s mane is dark chocolate brown. Use this shadow to fill in the shape of the mane and color the tip of the tail.

    Step 15:

Add the final strokes of the highlight
Now that we have the base color of the lion’s mane, it’s time to embellish it with some highlights. Using a small soft brush and a light beige color, add a fade effect to the lion’s mane. Starting at the outer edge of the mane, add more light brown highlights as you get closer to the lion’s face. Complete the highlight of the mane by adding a bit of gray to the mane just below the chin.

Now you can repeat this marking process on the small part of the lion’s tail.

    Step 16:

    Perfect your lion drawing
You’re almost done with your lion drawing, and we’ve reached the final step. This step is optional, simply providing a more seamless finish. You can achieve this by erasing the outlines of your lion sketch. If you are using a drawing tablet, this is very easy for you. If you are using a physical vehicle, simply use the corresponding shade at each point to track it.

If you joined this tutorial and want to know how to draw a lion, we hope to have answered this question for you. Now you know how to draw a lion’s face and body easily and how to create realistic colors. Hope you enjoyed this lion drawing tutorial and you feel more confident creating lifelike lion drawings.

  • How to draw crown step by step – Easy drawing a crown

How to draw crown step by step – Easy drawing a crown

How to draw crown with this how-to video and step-by-step drawing instructions. Simple drawing for kids and beginners.

How to draw crown step by step

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

    Step 1

Draw the bottom of the crown
Start by drawing the bottom part of the crown that will be shaped like a ring. Draw it as shown in the example and when adding its bottom edge facing forward, remember to leave a small gap at its edges. This will show that the ring has a certain thickness and is not just paper thin.

    Step 2

    Draw the front
Next draw spikes. At this stage, leave them with the tips open. Make the middle one the tallest and draw it straight up. Draw the spikes directly into its edges slightly curved away from it. Draw the next set of spikes that curve to the side more and also make them a bit thinner than the previous set.

    Step 3

    Draw spheres on the ends
Add small spheres/circles to the top of each branch. You can make the middle one the largest and then draw them a little smaller on the next set of spikes and even smaller on the one after that.

    Step 4

    Draw the back side
The form coming out between the spikes originally paints the ones at the back of the crown. Most of them will be hidden behind the front part but you should draw their visible parts thinner and smaller than the spikes in front. Draw the smaller spheres/circles at their ends as well as those on the back/center spikes being the smallest.

    Step 5

Draw Gems & Complete Line Drawing
Finally add some jewels to the crown. In this case only three will be visible. One in the middle and two on the sides. In this case, they will be oval in shape.

When drawing the side faces, you can slightly erase the crown border where the gems are supposed to go.

Once you’ve finished painting the jewels, confirm that what you’ve got so far looks the way you want it to, and make any tweaks as you feel necessary. Then trace your lines with a black pen or marker. Alternatively, you can also simply darken them with a pencil.

    Step 6

    Coloring the Crown
To color the crown, make it yellow/brown to look like gold. Make the jewelry red (or any color you like). Colored pencils may be the easiest choice for this particular drawing but paint can be just as good.

Inside each orb at the top as well as each gem leaves a small white space for emphasis
